Stocking Stuffers Under A Fiver

ARGH!!! Feck knows how it happened, but Christmas is just four weeks away! But don’t panic Beaut.ies cos we’ve got your back – all this week we’ll be bringing you our favourite festive picks. You might spot the perfect gift for your sister, auntie or best friend…or drop a subtle hint about your own pressie, by emailing them the links!

First up, super stocking stuffers…for under a fiver! Now let’s face it: a lot of cheap cosmetics are absolutely crap. But there are some real superstars as long as you know where to look – and hooray! We do!

stocking stuffers

From ELF Cosmetics, you won’t go wrong with the Studio Powder Brush or Studio Matte Lip Colour (the red and natural shades are fab) – they’re both €4 from eyeslipsface.co.uk. Essence lip gloss, €2.89, is fantastic – Vogue Williams swears by it – while Lisa Eldridge raves about the Collection 2000 Cream Puff lip creams, calling them ‘absolutely genius.’ You can get these for €3.55 in Superdrug. A mini tube of Sudocrem – €2.15 for 30g, or cheaper again for a teeny 10g tub – is also a handy little stocking stuffer (and it’s Irish, too!).

New York Cosmetics are also great for beauty bargains – standouts include High Definition mascara and Smooch Proof 16 Hr lip stains – and nothing in the range costs more than €3.99. You won’t go wrong with their nail polish either – other brilliant brands for nails include Paese, Angelica, Essence, Catrice and Barbara Daly for Tesco, which are all under a fiver – as are the new glitter polishes from Boots 17.

stocking stuffer ideas

Onto smellies, and they don’t come much more bargaintastic than the Suddenly Madame Glamour scent for Lidl, €3.49 – in consumer trials, it wiped the floor with pricier alternatives. And everyone loves a bath bomb – Lush’s Father Christmas Bath Ballistic is €4.25, or try the lavender one from Pixy, just €2.99. Their lip balm, €3.99, is also gorgeous and comes in five mouth-watering flavours.

To house all of this loveliness, consider these pretty little makeup bags from Penneys: they come in a range of floral or animal prints, with a hanging crystal from the zipper – and they’re just €3.50.

stocking stuffers

Another of my favourite stocking stuffers? As an extra treat I like to pop in a wee 20cl bottle of cava or prosecco – M&S do 4 bottles for under twenty quid, and try Tesco, too – topped with a Santa hat (€1.50 for 5 bottle toppers, from Penneys).

Feeling inspired? Have some great stocking stuffer ideas of your own? Quick, to the comments!

  • Shygirl says:

I can’t wait to try that Lidl perfume. Sounds really nice.

Great post – love the pics!

I’m all for value for money when I’m shopping for myself, but for presents I’d say buy 1 small luxury thing rather than 3 or 4 cheap things, even if the cheap things are amazing quality.
And sorry, I use it almost daily myself, but I can’t ever see Sudocream going down well as a gift!

  • Emma says:

Thanks guys – hope it helps! xo

  • Gems says:

Love mini prosecco idea! Defo stealing that one!

  • Jikl, we’ll have to agree to disagree – I’ve popped everything listed here in with a gift for my best friend or sister over the past wee while. It all went down well – even the sudocrem!

  • LoCo says:

    Love this.
The Collection 2000 Cream Puff lip creams are fabulous I have one in every colour sure you’d have to at the price. And have popped them into loads of pressies for friends and sisters they are all convertered.

I too will be robbing the mini prosecco idea.

  • Laura says:

Love the mini prosecco idea emma, just genius! Ideal for my work kris kindle:)

  • Shanna says:

Oh there are some brilliant ideas there Emma fair play to you! I’m all about the quantity – I absolutely adore picking up loads of little bits & pieces for my Sister & Mum and doing up big boxes/baskets full of loads of things. I think it’s so much more fun than one big thing, they always do it for me too and I love it! Mum bought me a handbag one year and in every pocket there was a little something, it was like being a child again, so fun!

  • Christina says:

Love Essence products, and the Sudocream is great also.

  • Shygirl says:

The Dove gifts sets are lovely. There great value, and there does be loads of stuff in them that you would actually use.

  • Aisling *Aisling* says:

LOVE this guide Emma = can’t wait to see what’s up your sleeve for the rest of the week!

  • littlesis says:

Lovely picks, I adore those Collection 2000 Cream Puffs too, and that ELF brush. Stellar stuff.

  • Ladyjane says:

I would love that present of like a box with lots of little things in it. I try to buy presents like that. The other half would rather something expensive like a new play station. Even tho I spend ages thinking of what to put into it.
Lidl perfume is very nice. Bought a bottle for work and it has been mistaken for something expensive. Granted I have to spray it on again at lunch but at 3.50 and with all the rank smells around I’d happily cover myself in it!

  • Orna says:

Lovely ideas but…. I don’t really know how I’d feel if someone gave me sudocream for Christmas… Could be a bit of a jab!

  • Lindybee says:

I got the Essence Breaking Dawn lipgloss over the weekend, the darker purpley shade and I am in love.. its actually long lasting too! I might get the red shade while I am at it. I’d be lost without my ELF brushes,.. could not recommend them more, keep expecting them to hike the price by about twenty euro because them brushes are daylight robbery! I have got NYC nail polishes as presents but I do find they need about 50 coats to get the colour up whereas Catrice shades are lovely!
