The Get Fit and Be Healthy Thread!

Postby breige » Wed Aug 03, 2011 9:21 pm

Hello ladies!!

A lot of us regular Beauties have recently set up a Twitter alliance, to help motivate each other for our own personal health goals. Be it eating more healthily, losing weight, staying in shape or just trying to be more healthy. I know there's loads of thread on here already and I plan on linking them so they are easy to find. This thread will help us check in, though if you feel like joining us on Twitter, we hope to use this hashtag #w2bf

Hopefully the aim of this thread will help keep us motivated, both by checking in on here and also from everyone's support. And we realise no one is perfect, everyone has off days (or weeks!), so this will be free from judging and negative feelings. If you fall off the wagon (or are having trouble even getting on it, like I am! ), then we're here to help you!

Don't be shy either ladies! :)

Well said, Breige!

It's only been going a couple of days but I'm really getting motivation from the group! If anyone wants to follow me, I'm @brideandjoy on twitter. Feel free to hound me about my running routine :)

Once I get the all-clear from the surgeon tomorrow to say I'm healed up from my tonsilectomy, I expect some good natured hounding from you ladies too to keep me exercising and eating relatively well, the last few months had just turned into eating whatever came near me while knackered.

Hey Ladies - not on Twitter but will def join in the forums - would set up a Twitter but I spend way too much time on the computer as it is without another distraction! Have been trying to get into excersise mode for a while after switching to a much healthier diet over the last couple of months but need to get excersising if I want to shift the weight I need to and get healthier. I have a threadmill here in the house that I've been trying to get into as it means I have no excuse not to do it - just wondering what excersises other people are up to?

Gee Gee, did you get your all clear? Sorry, I'm sure you've mentioned it on Twitter, but I haven't been on much today.

Hi Scarlet! I'm only trying to get back into exercising, so not sure what I want to do yet. I like doing the 30 Day Shred so will hopefully get back into that. Went for a walk/run yesterday and surprisingly enough I enjoyed it! Want to do some weight training too and get back into swimming

Breige - got the all-clear, have a slight lesion still on my throat but that is just the way it has healed and he said I should just leave it as it is and it should go away shortly, if not, I can get it sorted if its bothering me but at the moment its not so I'll leave it be. And the doc also had a look at my nose for me, had been getting nose bleeds while rundown with my throat and just for ease of mind asked him to have a look at it - forgot to ask him before - turns out I have an enlarged blood vessel in one nostril, got a cream to apply for 10days and that should end my nosebleeds :D So I have the all-clear now, when I get my wages tomorrow, I'll be heading to my old gym and rejoining and will just take it easy for the first few weeks, swim or just walks on the treadmill and work my way back up :D

Already had a rant about this over on the Blather, but basically I went and rejoined my gym earlier today and my mum knew and went and told my (diet-mad, pain in the arse to eat/make anything infront of) sister. Sister now wants me to bring her along anytime I'm going to the gym as my 'guest'. I don't want and won't because I want my gym time to be relaxing and some 'me' time, not having to worry if she's going to tell anyone how unfit I am at the moment or that I'm not working out as hard as she is...

Going to bring my gym bag with me to work and go straight from there most days and so I'm not going back home to collect her or even to be texting her to tell her to meet me there, she can buy her own gym membership or go to a pay-as-you-go gym if she wants, she's not using mine!
