About & Press

Who are these Product Sluts?

Kirstie (left) and Aisling (right) are sisters in product obsession as well as actually sisters in real life. Both have a long-running love for all things cosmetic and both will admit to being complete suckers for a glossy advertising campaign.

In addition to ensuring that Beaut.ie is Ireland’s number one daily resource for all things gorgeous, they’re busy ladies. Aisling is the author of the best-selling Beaut.ie book, which is the essential tome for anyone interested in getting gorgeous – it’s in all good bookshops right now, or you can buy online.

Kirstie is a freelance beauty writer and currently contributes to Confetti and Prudence magazines as well as the Sunday Times Style Ireland edition. Previously to that, she’s held the positions of Image magazine beauty editor, Sunday Tribune beauty editor, Evening Herald columnist and Irish Independent Weekend beauty editor. The pair are ably joined in their Beaut.ieful endeavours by contributors who add their own personalities, product recommendations and tips and tricks to the mix.

Since September 2006, Beaut.ie has been Ireland’s premier online resource for women who are into cosmetics and makeup, and who enjoy a bit of banter in a welcoming, supportive environment, making the site a buzzy, fun place to be. Witty editorial voices, engaging content and telling-it-like-it-is add up to a site that draws in more than 20,000 visitors a day.

It’s an unmissable stop-off for anyone looking to find out what’s new, what’s coming up, and what’s good. Plus, Beaut.ie is your number one resource for the best bargains, the best competitions and the absolute best beauty writing in Ireland.

The Evening Echo ran a really nice piece on beaut.ie in their Women on Wednesday supplement. It sang our praises! We love a bit of flattery, us. We’ll be scanning it ASAP but here are a few excerpts to be getting on with:

Beaut.ie is an antidote to the fussy, posh, expensive side of beauty, the side that most Irish women don’t identify with.

Instead, the website is sassy, funny, down-to- earth, and infused with a certain Irish brand of irreverent humour. There’s also a touch of the ‘rock chick’ about the blog that gives it an edge that most beauty magazines don’t have.

The sisters’ irreverent sense of humour is also what marks Beaut.ie out from many other beauty-based blogs.”

Huge thanks to Aoife Barry for the article.
