Apparently as soon as you become famous you enter a whole new world of weight measurement. It’s no good being the normal weight for your height as the media will instantly label you fat and the opportunity to take unflattering photos of you will be like pound signs in the eyes of the paparazzi.
The average weight lost by women who become famous is 30 pounds. Look at gorgeous Cheryl Cole. The first pic shows her as a slim girl band member. But as soon as she began to became mega famous without without Girls Aloud she started to shrink. In last night’s X-Factor you could see the ribs sticking out of her back. Amy Winehouse credits her emaciated frame with her rise to fame. SJP became super skinny – and made it big on Sex in the City and Jennifer Anniston says she would never have made it on Friends without dropping that 30 pounds.
So lets get this straight. Even if you’re slim to start off with you must become practically transparent to become a massive star.
So if your normal weight is say nine stone – your celebrity weight will be six stone 12 pounds.
Your whole life would be consumed by thinking about food – but never eating it. What do you think of this?

Her waist is about the same size as my thigh!
And I prefer my thigh
that picture on the right is shocking. Needless to say I would not make a very good celebrity (goddamn that whole goodfellas pizza I ate last night
)
its terrifying. friends of mine have young teenagers who think they’re fat becuase of all of this and they are soooo not.
i regularly eat a whole pizza ams, lol. i’d need about 6 pairs of those jean sewn together to get round my size 16 leggies . . and i have no intention of becoming a lollipop head.
makes me hungry thinking about it. i just love my food way to much to deprive myself of something i want
Hang on – is it not normal to eat a whole pizza?! Like, there’s definitely not enough in a half pizza and some salad or coleslaw or some such rabbity rubbish for dinner.
I had my favourite pizza in Milano’s one night last week… goat’s cheese, red onion and other things I can’t remember now… mmmmmmmm!
Lynnie – i use the avoca recipe for pizza base and it says divide in 2 and freeze half – i divide in 2 and cook 2 – we have 1 full pizza each. tis massive but half would be cruel! goats cheese ….mmmmmmm
Lynnie, stop it!! Still 45 mins till lunch
I’m 30lbs above my real weight  wonder if I can make the swap that way!
Re the whole pizza thing, definately think the whole one is the only way to not be hungry, either that or half and some chips!
Ye Debra Messing pre and post Will and Grace is pretty scary too…she almost halved in size!
Ye I love food way tooo much…wish I had a pizza now. A bowl of Museli isn’t the same!
Boo to extreme skinnyness and Yay for food, Christmas is coming…can’t wait to stuff my face with turkey! Also just realised today, that I haven’t had a mince pie yet this year….must remedy that today!
Lynnie – I’m a fan of CafeBarDeli’s pizzas!
Unfortunately this is just the way things are. It’s not right, but I can completely understand why people lose so much weight when you’re in the public eye so much. With constant comment and criticism on your appearance it much just make you so paranoid..
True, but what amazes me is the amount of time that is spent on criticising a few skinny people, when in reality 2/3 of the population are overweight and there are more health risk associated with being even a little overweight than there are with being underweight. In the same vein, people should say something about overweight celebrities claiming to be happy with their weight, then, should they not, because that’s no good role model either, is it, cos it’s not healthy…
I’m not defending anyone, just saying that it’s interesting why some people’s weight is such an issue and other people’s is not… and now I’m going to hide
(
and just to clarify, I’m no size 6 myself, lol!)
Heh heh sweetie I’m dipping into a box of Lindt here to keep me going
Ooooh Monty I will have to try one of theirs now, being the pizza connoisseur that I am!
I quite like Cheryl but man alive she is like a twiglet up there on the right. That just can’t be healthy. When she was hugging Alex on the show last night I couldn’t stop looking at her tiny little arms, they looked positively fragile.
it is all a bit mad isn’t it tina
tina, that’s only because there is 1 overweight celeb on every 50 skinny, that’s why it’s not such a big issue.
They look vile & ill im ny opinion
and obviously not happy
Sweetie – Agreed.
Millie – that’s because they’re constantly hungry
eh hello?
a luminous pink sleeveless tee shirt ticked into high waisted denim jeans??
nearly as upsetting as the whole weight thing, imo
just for the record, i firmly believe the whole celeb ‘if i turn sideways and you won’t see me’ thing is v v scary
Glitterkitty – What else would you expect from the Tweedster?
And what drives me mad is that they claim to be naturally skinny!! Am I the only one who remebmers Nicole Richie with a midrif and chubby cheeks?
Sure it’s their choice, but it’d be better if they would admit – Yeah, I have an eating disorder. I’m ill. Maybe then perfectly normal women of all ages won’t think that they are seriously overweight? That got me into trouble with food before, so now I don’t even open gossip mags.
Cheryl looks horrible in the photo on the right (tho at least she doesn’t have point boobs like she did in the left photo). While I can’t manage a whole pizza in one go (small appetite, shame it doesn’t make my thighs smaller), I’m all for it! A bit of body fat keeps you warm, and helps you to bounce when you fall over.
Tina – I totally agree with you. It’s very un PC for being critical of fat people (it could be glandular ra ra ra etc.) but people who are skinny (naturally or otherwise) are seen as fair game for criticism.
Complete double standards.
Thalia and Tina – I completely agree. I have some very skinny friends and people think nothing of making the meanest comments. Like “Oh no thanks I’ve already eaten” is met with rolling of eyes and “Ye right”. Now it would totally unacceptable for it to be the other way around.
I think it’s because people don’t think skinny people have body issues when in reality a lot of people would love to be able to put on a little bit of weight.
I’ve no clue who this person is, but lordy, if you hadn’t said she was the same person I would have never known!
GK – soooo right on the jeans! That’s seriously a case of ‘Just because I can, doesn’t mean I should!’
=)
omg i always have a whole pizza to myself!!!!
my sister is skinny (size 6/8) but well toned proportioned and always has been- but she eats more than i do!!!!
i am actually addicted to food- my b/f always teases me how much i adore it!!!
Tina, definately see your point…there needs to be more of an emphasis on the fact that childhood obesity is on a high at the moment. Its not right at all
Phew. I’m glad some of you see my point, was worried i’d get my head bitten off
LMW – it’s not just childhood obesity, it’s adults too. Did you see the latest health statistics (irish)? Really shocking. What’s worse is that a half the people don’t even realise their weight is health risk, because ‘normal’ now is overweight and people are more concerned with their looks/fitting in, than their health.
I think the skinny obsession is dangerous but wouldn’t mind being 1/2 stone lighter and then back in my size 10′s… then again am seriously considering maccy d’s for lunch as still tired & hungover from a mad weekend!
Oh I know yea Tina, but I think if you can help kids kick the obesity part there is a better chance of them not being overweight as they get older
poppins i make that pizza too and think i am great because i use half brown flour … as if that makes it ok to have goats cheese, cheddar cheese, parma ham and an array of other high fat toppings

the homemade ones are the best though and sooooo easy , one each ? we’ve been known to polish 4 between 3 of us
tooooo skinny is all i can say about those celebs .. cheryl looked a litte sharp around the edges on sat night .. not a good look .
lmw – yes, you’re very right there. they should teach kids to be healthy from as young as possible, that way they’ll never get to the stage where their weight is a health risk (whether it be overweight or underweight)
Jaysus, this is awful but I hadn’t noticed how thin Cheryl had gotten. I was blinded by her gorgeous hair
Cheryl lost a load of weight during the Ashley debacle, she put a little back on but not much. That pic was from the height of it IIRC.
It’s shocking, but Kimberly looks fat next to the rest of GA. OK, not fat but chubby, and she’s probably a small 10.
i watched Girls Aloud Expose last night (before i turned over to watch Elf-love will Ferell) nad the difference in the size of them then and now was unreal…they were normal sized when the started out, but compared to what hey look like now, they looked kinda chubby, when there was no way they were, they are just Squinchy now..its madnes..how do they have the will power???
laineyg,I noticed that the other day as well, they were all wearing short skirts in the photo, and because the other 4 have skinny twigs for legs,Kimberly looked chubbier, though she really does have a lovely shape
I agree with you Tina – there is a double standard about commenting on someone’s weight if they’re ‘skinny’ and yet it’s considered impolite and rude to comment on someone who is overweight – despite the numerous medical complications of being overweight. Remember when Ferne from This Morning used to bang on about being happy with her weight and she was held up as some role model – only then to discover she was anything BUT happy with her weight and losing it in the most unhealthy way.
I think as a society/culture we’re obsessed with weight and that’s totally unhealthy
Cheryl is waaaaayyy too skinny. When Girls Aloud started out, she had an amazing body. Now I just want to take her home and feed her roast dinners. Poor pet.
Cheryl always used to have an amazing figure but she didn’t turn skeletal when she became a celebrity though, she lost it when that sh*tbag husband of hers was exposed as a dirty cheating rat…
That picture is just sick..that on the left is soo nice (Dont like the hair) but her body? wow it looks good
God – I wish I had her willpower/metabolism!
I remember a few years ago we were at my parents friends house and there was one woman there who kept going on and on and on to my mum about how skinny she was and how thin she looked and how she should put some weight on all this lark. Now fair enough my mum was skinny – she’d no boobs and was a size 8…just straight up and down. Always used to be complaining she looked like a boy. And while this womans comments didn’t offend her or upset her in any way at all, she thought it was extremely rude of her to think it wouldn’t offend etc. So next time she said it my mam started going on about how fat she was and how she could do with losing a few pounds etc. Well…you want to have seen the outrage!! Mum did explain her reasonings in the end…saying it was potentially just as offensive as she was being by saying mum was frail looking and needed to put on some weight.
My mum is always stirring things up though! In a good way, usually, lol. But rest assured that woman won’t be saying such things again!!
Yay to Mommie Tiddles!!
