Hoi laydees! I know oi haven’t been about for a whoile and there’s a good reason for that. Oi switched to a variable rate tracker mortgage and with the money oi saved, sure I could cruise round the French Riveria all summer, with short stops off here and there to buy gold bullion, furs and black hair dye.
Whoile I was away I got to thinking about lip gloss, though. Oi believe that dis year, dere’s a big move back to retro shoine. Lipstick Queen Poppy King has dis fabillis, cult, range of sheer and opaque lipsticks, that oi believe fashionistas rate to the max, like. Adding to that range is her recent launch, Shine, big pots of glossy goop that are very sexy (admit it gerrils, you love it when oi say sexy, don’t you?) Even though they’re nice and big, factor in the $22 charge plus the proHIBitive cost of postage, and Rimmel’s new Shock Gloss is looking loike a very attractive prospect altogether. Plus, it’s filty cheap – only €6.55 for a pretty large tube of magnifying gloss – now, that’s what I call a sound investment.

teehee – Eddie we’ll be needing you more than ever what with the credit crunch and all. Glad to hear you don’t have to give up the hair dye, Brendan Investments must have turned it white with worry!
I picked up the new Rimmel Gloss myself (I’m a sucker for a gimmick), the gloss itself is nice and thick without being sticky, but I can’t get my head around the spatula applicator at all!
it’s total retro-glam, isn’t? Great over lipstick I’m finding
Oh Eddie, I love your words of wisdom!
Hi there, first time to join in although I’m a long time fan, love all the great hints and tips
just a quick question for ya.. has anyone ever heard of Victoria Jackson make-up?? cos theres a couple of girls selling it on the street around the Dublin 2 area… looks luvly
Glitterbug – welcome!
On the Victoria Jackson front – stay away!! If they’re still pretending they’re going to be soon in BTs especially!
Yeah they actually had me goin for a few minutes about the bt’s thing
but i spose if its too good too be through it usually is, one girl from my office goe a set of make-up brushes, a palette of eyeshadows and god knows what for €30!! If only!!
Welcome back Eddy!
oh and luvin eddie by the way….
I got A Victoria Jackson set of shadows and glosses – really nothing special. Didn’t last well. Didn’t feel all that nice. Boring.
On the lip gloss front – I have started to go sparingly on my Bobbi Brown lip gloss and I have turned to Palmers Cocoa Dark Choclate and Peppermint Lip Butter. It’s durt cheap (about 3.95) and delicious. Leaves my lips super soft and has a really nice shine to it.
Oh Lottie – can I email you about VJ later?
tell us aphrodite!
I saw the girls selling VJ yesterday on Grafton street. I was approached but didnt have time to stop. A couple of friends have bought these compacts with a huge amount of products in them. Not sure of the quality though…
