  • Kerry Gurl says:

Poppins, i got Rhona a few weeks ago to come down to Athlone for a hen weekend. She did a 3 hour make-up lesson with the 6 girls (I wanted one of the events to be without alcohol!!) who were at the hen party and it was absolutely fabulous!!! She did 3 of the girls make-up and it was WOW! She gave some brilliant tips as well!If I was ever getting married I wouldnt care how much it was I’d get her! She’s brilliant!! Great crack as well! I had read about her here and that’s why I booked her. I told her I had seen a recommendation about her on this site and she knew all about it!!!

  • Twinkletoes says:

I am intrigued – what sort of makeup do you all want for your weddings? Or if you’re already married, what did you get done?

I just did my own for my wedding day…

  • Poppins says:

ah wow kerry gurl thanks a million for that feedback. im thrilled now :D

  • MontyC says:

  • Kerry Gurl says:

  • Thumper says:

KerryGurl do you mind me asking how much it was to get her to do the make-up lesson? I just want an idea as her site doesn’t give pricing details. Thanks

  • Poppins says:

thumper, she quoted me 450euro for me and 3 others on the day, the trial is 50euro. and to travel is 50euro.

  • m says:

baby in a corner- I don’t have Clinque Toner- although someone at work mentioned the other day that Virgin Vie sales ppl always say that it takes off nail varnish its that harsh (and thus terrible and buy some Virgin Vie makeup NOW!!)

I could try nail varnish remover?!!hehe..I wouldnt dont worry my skin couldnt hack it at my wrists coz my excema is bad at the mo!

  • Kerry Gurl says:

Hi y’all have been spying on blog all day and thought I’d post. Firstly weird how so many people are planning on having lasagna tonight-read that just after I’d decided to cook it! Rosey I am with you on loving Queen get my facials there and getting my highlights there next week! Re. the wedding make up, I have a make up person (from Queen!) but can anyone recommend a hair person who will come out to house in Malahide at sparrow’s fart to do wedding hair?

  • Poppins says:

ladyelvis and abottle of blossom hill red :D

  • Kerry Gurl says:

Tis indeed worth it Poppins! U’d be looking at those photos for the next 50 years :D

  • Thumper says:

Thanks ladies! I have always meant to get a make-up lesson. I use it most days so makes sense to be taught how to get the best out of it.

Oh and I read that K8isGr8 website. I doubt she doesn’t wash or has a monobrow because of her views and I can agree with her thinking ppl shouldn’t be obessed with beauty/fashion. But I don’t think that’s what this site is about. This is a fun site that makes work a bit more tolerable and you can tell from the blather that there is all shapes and sizes and opinions represented. This is a blog about beauty so obviously that’s what you would be talking about here. And I have to say there isn’t many blogs on the web that are so friendly and supportive.

Plus I find the reviews are all quite balanced and accurate. The admin girls obviously love beauty stuff and that enthusiasm comes across.

Anyway, only one hour to go till I’m released for the weekend wahoo! I hope you guys have a gab bank holiday weekend :)

  • Kerry Gurl says:

I agree Thumper! The girls here brighten up the day! Great crack and great advice – what more could u want! Have a great weekend everyone and it was really good talking to you! :D

  • MontyC says:

Thumper – Exactly. She’s COMPLETELY missed the point of this website.

We are not obsessed, we just want to make the best of ourselves! :-)

  • clio says:

can u post a link to that blog you are all on about

  • suzy says:

Yeah i cant find that blog either???

  • littlemisswonders says:

oh and she only posts the responses that agree with her!

  • MontyC says:

LMW – Yeah I noticed that!

  • MontyC says:

    I think ‘bitch.ie’ is a bit of a give away though…. ;-)

  • littlemisswonders says:

in all squareness, you’d swear the site was actually bitch.ie, zoning in on everyone’s problems and putting them under the microscope… oh well, jealousy is a deadly sin, she obviously wanted to get more hits on her site or she wouldn’t have put up a ‘pingback’

  • Scurge says:

Lads can someone fill me in…..Who?

  • Scurge says:

    ok just found it…what a flange-bag…..

  • Babaduck says:

I have THE biggest spot ever on my chin – and I never get them so am having major trauma attacks… thank god I’m housebound otherwise you’d see it on Google Earth  I’d say a combination of the facial last weekend and the general anaesthetic brought it on.

Twinkletoes – my ex-neighbour did my wedding makeup – she was a big MU Artist in the US but gave it all up for a man and babies. I had a Lancome base, heaps of gold, brown & bronze on my eyes and enough mascara to make a drag queen blush. Actually my pale freckly skin soaks in colour at an unbelievable rate so it was layered on in metre-deep strokes, and looked great all day! If I remember rightly, she used an Isadora palette on my eyes which is still in the house somewhere.

  • ladyelvis says:

Baba my face is also broken out after a facial-but feeling that once they clear up I’ll be sparkling….well I bleedin better be! Trying the new Dermalogica Medibac range and must say I’m rather impressed!

  • anna says:

please please please does anyone know where i can get the brand Styli- style cosmetics. Bought a lipgloss in New York made by that company but can’t find it here.

  • Admin says:

Hi anna – I’ve never heard of the brand, sorry

  • Babaduck says:

    Anna

Did you check out http://www.stylistyle.com ??

  • Kutekeane says:

Anyone try the Clinque Total Turnaround 15 minute facial OR NARS blusher stick….huge range of colours to choose from on HQ emmm Anyway just throwing that in at 23:33 to close the bank holiday. Am off tomorrow to continue the ‘bank holiday feeling’ tee hee
