The colours are fab! Chanel are great for the colours, but I don’t think that they’re great for staying on tbh. They seem to chip a bit and then “peel” off…? For €20, I expect more from a polish – and Dior are worse!

Oh pretty! These are right up my street. I hope they have them in the airport when I pas through in a few weeks :)

have to agree with you sweetie on the dior – they r brutal!! chanel are ok tbh i can’t find any varnishes that last the test on my talons – a jessica manicure done by a pro maybe but that is a rarity!!but i do love these colours and have a weak spot for anything chanel so no doubt i’ll pick one up at some stage this weekend!

    Missymoo,
I am the same as you, have an absolute weakness for Chanel. I don’t know why.
I have the Black Satin nail polish, find it lasts quite well. I wear Coco Mademoiselle perfume and got Chanel sunglasses for my birthday… now I want more…

Am just applying a new coat of Dior as we speak! Nothing lasts on my nails though. I can’t understand all this talk of a manicure lasting a week – A WEEK!! I’m lucky to get two days out of it
    Now a pedi – that’s a different matter – purrrr

If I do base coat, two layers varnish, top coat and then my Creative Nails drying stuff, ANY diy manicure will last me 5 days.

Loving the colour on the right of the pic…

  • Poppins says:

im the same no polish lasts on my nails.

I’ve started putting a top coat of Sally Hansen Miracle Cure which is great for preventing peeling and other such nasty nail ailments!

  • sweetie says:

Ya, maybe its just my weak nails!
Twinkle, what top coat do u use? I usually do the base, 2polish and top coat too, but maybe its just a crap top coat?!

  • missymoo says:

I think the far left and far right ones are lovely – I’ve just remembered there is no chanel counter in wexford anymore – what a pain :(

Aphrodite – I’m the same manicures are defo gone within the week no matter how careful i am but pedis i get a lot of mileage outta

littlesis – i love the black satin and rouge noir and any of the chanel eyeshadow quads – not too gone on their foundation but love their mascara and eyeliners

I did my nails on Sunday night and had a wedding the following friday. Come thursay not one chip – now it had worn a bit at the tops but a lick of top coat and it was good to go. Only happended the once though.

I think the Creative Nails base/top coats are the business. I got mine from 8ty8 beauty when I was ordering my OPI that time we all got it!! Also have a speed dry thing of theirs taht you paint on after top coat for a few mins and then buff off with tissue. Leaves nails incredibly shiny and totally dry.

Littlesis – Same here! Lurve Chanel…

Re nail varnish staying power, always use a base and top coat. One coat of base, two coats of colour and one coat of top and that should go a long way to making it stay put.

I bought the Cassis and Cherry along with the Aqualumiere lip gloss in Candy Glow a couple of weeks ago and they are gorgeous. I have Cherry on my toes at the moment. Be warned though the Cassis nail varnish and Candy Glow gloss seem very popular. so don’t wait too long if you want them. I went from Selfridges to Harvey Nics to Boots who had all sold out of those shades, went to Debenhams and they had loads. Am really tempted to go back and buy the other two shades of nail varnish as well.

You inspired me ladies. I dug out my Chanel Blue Satin last night and it is twinkling up at me as I type.

I got the Creative Stickey base and Super Shiney top coat in the US for about 6$ each. It’s soooooo much cheaper over there, it’s criminal. I get a good 4 or 5 days – might need to reapply the top coat but that’s about it.
