Yup! We went to the Blog Awards last night full of determination to have the few scoops and have a laugh, but we really didn't think we'd win any Bloggies this time, as we'd done so well last year. So myself, Aphrodite and Lynnie (aided and abetted last night by PinkPanther, Glitterkitty and Roisin Dubh) were pretty gobsmacked to win for Best Group Blog - gobsmacked, and delira, of course, considering the competition.
Big thanks to Damien Mulley for his trojan work in organising it - and it was super-pro this year with very funny category announcements by none other than George Bush; great goody bags; a brillo raffle (I won Twenty Major's buke) and deadly Bloggie trophies, DVD players and champagne. Thanks also to everyone behind the scenes because this sort of thing takes a lot of work - pretty much like putting a wedding on each year, and one that involves something akin to herding a lot of cats. And of course, big, huge congrats to all the winners last night, and it was great to meet some of you guys as well. Delighted Sabrina Dent won for Best Design, as I think her blog is just beeee-youuu-tiful.
I'd say I speak for all us beaut.ie's when I say, behind every blogging woman is a very understanding man who only occasionally raises his eyes to heaven and says, "are you ever going to get off that bloody laptop?".
