Nothing really beats airport shopping, does it? Much like shopping while on holiday, the money spent doesn’t really seem to count in the real world, and you can shop safe in the knowledge that you’re saving a fair bit on the normal retail price.
With this in mind, I recently picked up a few more of my favourite Giorgio Armani Smooth Silk Eye Pencils at Dublin Airport. As the name suggests, these pencils are silky soft and glide easily onto the eyelids, with no harsh pulling or tugging required. You can sharpen them to a fine point for a precise line, or smudge them out with the attached sponge tip for a smoky finish. Shades range from pale taupe to navy, forest green, deep purple and true black and a rich colour payoff is easily achieved.
If you’re looking for a liner that wears like iron, these might not be your best option, but for a smooth pencil that is easily applied and which will give a rich colour finish that smudges and softens slightly with wear, but still lasts the day, I don’t think these can be beaten.
These are priced at €20 from the Brown Thomas Giorgio Armani counter and you’ll make a saving of around 20% at the airport.

totally my favourite pencils too, amazing for smokey eyes!
do they tend to end up under your eye?? Like the mac one goes on lovely, with a nice colour but then always smudges under the eye after a few hours
I love these too but i have a problem the recent one i bought when it went down i paired it with a sharpener and now one side constantly has the wood bit on it and it hurts to use it, anyone ever have this? like it only pares on one side
Satine I don’t find these end up under my eye, but then I only usually line my upper lid, as I find liner on my lower lid just looks wrong on me.
Hi LMC there is a special sharpener for the Armani pencils – I had pared half of mine away before a friend told me about them. They pare the pencil evenly. If you go to any Armani desk they will give you some for nothing! They should have given them to you when you bought the pencil…
Hi everyone,
With regards to the pencil sharpener, I use Clarins black eyeliner which is very soft and great for smudging. It has a great smudger at the end of it and incorporated into the lid is a fab sharpener which doesnt take out chunks or leave pointy bits of wood or anything. I think its great as an all in one product!
Thanks Harto! Ill call in on my lunch! thats brilliant i was afraid to keep pairing because as you say you will end up been left with nothing!! thanks again! x
