You are a luxury girl, after all!!

I sent a friend in to BT’s to get some and they were fairly generous with their samples.

  • Princessa says:

Just ordered my free samples of everydayminerals makeup off their website – great tip girlies, thanks! I’ll let ye know how I get on once An Post deliver it to me in October probably :)

Am so going to try the armani makeup this weekend in BT’s – People should be warned how much more money you can spend being on this website!!

  • Red says:

Princessa, be sure you go out of the shop & see the armani in proper light. The lighting is dreadful at the counter & if you buy the wrong shade you could have jump through hoops to bring it back!

  • Gio says:

Every time I scroll down past that picture…it makes me think of maltesers!! Uh-oh!!

  • MontyC says:

Baby in a corner – I would highly recommened either Chanel Vitalumiere (it comes in a fluid, a creme in a lovely little pot and creme compact) or YSL Perfect Touche foundations.

I have pale, dry, sensitive skin and both of these foundations suit me down to the ground!

Would love to try Armani but you can’t get it in Cork

Princessa – for powder I’d recommend Dior or Chanel. Both are brilliant

  • Jenny says:

Prescriptives! Their oil-free stuff in little bottles – costs a bomb (in the UK), but lasts forever. Relatively heavy coverage, but it’s just so good – and the colour matches are superb.

  • Bee says:

Princessa – I find the bobby brown translucent powder brilliant – but mine has disappeared. Had it yesterday and can’t find it today – bloody makeup munchkins are at it again.

  • beautfan says:

Bee – that happens to me too. I’ve lost about 200 mascaras and am looking for my MAC tinted balm for about a week.

  • Principessa says:

Princessa, the Clinique loose powder is lovely.

  • Aphrodite says:

yeah I think makeup munchkins stagger out of my makeup bags every day too – I can never find anything
moisturiser too – last night I was a lunatic – “where’s my crystal clear serum??”
found it under the bed in the end

  • sharona says:

I swear by Clinique Citybase, and they discontinued selling it in Ireland/Europe 5 years ago. Thankfully can just about still get it online/from US but living in constant fear of them discontinuing it.

Clinique loose powder is great too, I love the gentle light stuff…

  • Red says:

I bought the clinique loose powder that is supposed to ‘Illuminate’, can’t remember what it’s called & can’t get off my @rse to check… but it was horrendous, like I’d stuck my face in a pot of glitter, not a good look for work… unless you’re a circus performer…

  • Princessa says:

Thanks girlies – I’ll be having so much fun going around BT’s tomorrow (but not during 10am 12 so I can listen to Newstalk :) )

MontyC, Red and Princepessa, I’ll ask at the various counters for each of them to do part of my face in the powder to see which one of the three ye recommend suits me best! I’ll look hilarious altogether!

I use Laura Mercier mineral foundation for daytime which I find really light and natural, so happy with it. For the night, I use Laura Mercier Luminous foundation which gives fairly good coverage. The only thing with LM that bugs me is that their colour range is extremely poor, so beware of this.

  • Admin says:

ladya, they’re bringing out some colour for autumn

  • Tiptoe Shortbread says:

Double wear is the one for me always and forever methinks

  • sweeto says:

I have dry flaky sensitive skin, dose. I also can’t afford to spend a lot on foundation at the mo, so I stick with the Body Shop moisturising foundation, I’d recommend it! Very natural coverage. I bought Perfectly Real by Clinique because I used to wear it years ago, but my skin’s gotten drier since then and I’d forgotten that it was oil free, so I just use it at nighttime if I’m going out.
Vitalumiere is great, the cream in the glass pot (sounds like what Baby was given a year ago) is heavier than the liquid, but they’re both great for dry or mature skins.

  • Trish says:

Matis perfect fluid. The niced foundation by far.Excellent coverage and sooo silky

  • Suzy says:

for the best treat ever, Creme de la Mer do the most fantastic tinted moisturiser – technically not a foudnation but still, tis mighty good.
Never got used to Mac foundation, have tried a couple but they just don´t do it for me, it´s a question of texture or something.
powder : YSL. A treat, yes, but the most gorgeous soft texture that doesn´t dry your skin out but is good at mattifying

  • fiona says:

Am addicted to foundation buy at least one every two weeks. Haven’t found one as good as double wear yet though always trying. Am using clinique, benefit (tea party stick quite good)este lauder lucity at the moment. The worst I have tried is shesido foundation stick very greasy and no staying powder whatsoever. Urban decay do a really good mineral powder and bronzer would really recommend.

  • Mouseenx says:

Hi, was just wondering what you guys thought of Elizabeth Arden compacts? Ive been using them for ages ..i like good heavy-ish coverage!

  • aideen says:

    hi guys,
i have bought so many foundtions, is the doube wear good for night? anyone any recommendations for a quite pale skin also combinaton.
bought christian dior for day but its also shiny in photos.
    any ideas for xmas.
    cheers

  • LauraF says:

Why not try some of d smashbox i think this is gonna be my purchase for 2008. There foundation primer is fab which bodes well for d foundation! My local chemist in fermoy have recently started stockin it as it usually only in dublin must be startin to branch out! have u tried loose powder over u foundation as my skin can also look quite shiny at times and this seems to work!

  • lisa m says:

hi girls i am using mac studio fix since reading this i think il try ga luminous silk wat is the mac face and body

  • Ita says:

kanebo!!! most fabulous foundation ever! the coverage and tone is so natural leaves a really silky finish if you have problem skin or flawless skin it still leaves a fab finish, anyone heard of the range?

  • A says:

Where can you buy kanebo in Ireland

  • Dinkey says:

I adore Bare Essentials Mineral Foundation. It has great coverage but also gives a bit of a sheen to your skin. At the moment though I’m using Chanel Mat Lumiere and I love it too. But my fave is the Armani Hydraglow. Might have to check out RMK though now cos it seems to be good.

  • June says:

hmmm… I have too many foundations to be decent. The best ones I have tried would be Chanel Prolumiere, Peter Thomas Roth Unwrinkle liquid Foundation, Ellis Faas Skin Veil, Make Up Designory Cream foundation and Everyday minerals Semmi Matte Foundation. The Face Atelier is also very good. Oh Dear…. I could probably bought a new car…

  • June says:

Oh and what about Shu Uemura Nobara , and MUF HD foundation….a new car and then some….

  • Magda says:

do you know where can i buy Kanebo Translucent Loose Powder in Dublin/Eire ?? :) M

  • Samantha says:

right hmm foundation ive tried many
    heres sum and my thoughts:

MAC studio fix: great coverage can be drying betr suited to oilier skins, nc range can tend to be a bit yellow for typical irish skin tones, only an average foundation good for people who like a real heavy foundation

make up forever hd foundation: medium to full coverage, has a nice finish but you must set this with a powder if you have oily skin because it gets very shiny during the day. worth getting a sample not available in cork anymore available in dublin

nars sheer glow: very similiar to mufe hd , medium to buildable coverage (kim kardashian are a fan of both these foundations) a nice foundation be careful when choosing a shade

estee lauder double wear: excellent night time foundation doesnt budge on a night out!!!! available all over ireland, can break people out very heavy.. but a go to foundation for night time

mac face and body: known as macs hd foundation gives light to buildable coverage, not suited to some1 whos needs a lot of coverage, good day time foundation very natural evens out skin tone

illamasqua rich liquid foundation: the most full coverage foundation ive ever tried, i use this as a concealer instead of foundation, unbelievably coverage

this is just to name a few i have tried chanel foundations, benefit playstick, clarins foundation and many many more including drugstore brands too!!
i still have not found my holy grail foundation!!!

    hope this helps ye!!
