No Scream Cream: take the sting out of waxing

no scream cream.jpgNo Scream Cream (genuis name!) is a topical preparation that considerably lessens sensitivity in the area of application.
What this means to you and me is that it’s a cream that comes in a tube, you slap in on to the “area” about to be waxed and in 35 to 40 minutes the area will be numbed sufficently to make painful waxing a thing of the past. 80% less pain they promise! Simply Relax and Wax..,

.
Be it ladygarden, legs, or eyebrows, there should be considerably less suffering as the hairs are ripped out of their folicles. Mama Mia, the things we will endure. And pay to have done to us what’s more!

If you like the sound of this, it costs €19.95 and is available from salons nationwide – to find one near you, ring 1890 564 040.

I don’t really mind the pain of waxing/epilating thankfully, but surely putting cream on your legs before waxing would make the wax less effective? Wouldn’t you have to wash off the cream beforehand?

  • Aphrodite says:

Apparently not – and it says it doesn’t stain your clothes either. I’d love to hear from someone who’s tried it though

This product is not popular with MakeUpAlley-ers… Haven’t tried it myself but can’t see how something topical like this that numbs your skin would make waxing less painful really – isn’t the pain you get with waxing associated with how much bloodflow there is to the roots of your hair & how big the root is..?

  • Aphrodite says:

oh Lynnie – now that has sent a shiver down my spine!! The thought of the blood flow and the big root aaagh

I asked about this a few months back I rang Flairline to see who they supplied it to. The lady told me it was amazing and worked really well. Akina in temple bar stock it apparently. On the Flairline website it’s only €9 so it’s selling at a huge mark up.

  • Clarence says:

They sell this in Urban Wax in D2 (www.urbanwax.com). I haven’t tried it though – thank god I find waxing bearable (relatively)!!

  • Lynnie says:

Heh heh Aphrodite! I like the “ew” in beauty, the more gruesome the job the more intruiged I am ;)

  • shivers says:

Very excited to hear about this. I sometimes find waxing quite painful I have to say. Though last time I was getting my bikini line done, there were screams from another room. “Oh must be someone getting waxed” announced the beautician quite calmly. My jaw dropped, clearly there’s someone who finds it worse than me. ;-)

  • Sarah Mag says:

    hey guys

Ive bought it and used it. Im not too good for the pain threshold when it comes to waxing. Ive only used this the once but i must admit it is good. you need to put it on 15-20 mins before you get waxed and it absorbes into the skin. Make sure to wash your hands afterwards cos i went and picked something out of my tooth after wards and the tip of my tongue was numb……..

So off i went for my waxing and it wasnt completely pain free but there was a difference!!

    Id give it 7/10!!

I sold this in my salon and used it myself and i personally found it didnt work on me but some clients loved it. I think i maybe left it on for to long thats why. Again it depends on the person xx

  • trilby says:

oh my gawd, anyone know is it effective for epilating too? i invested in that braun silk epil ye were raving about a month ago, little did i realise i’d be entering a world of pain. couldn’t go any higher than my knees! too sensitive/ a wuss. after dropping a ton on it i do want to get into using it though. so definitely gonna try this!

  • Aphrodite says:

Trilby – keep persevering with the epilator! Do you find waxing agony too? I don’t see any reason why the no scream wouldn’t work with the epilator – it’s the same principle

  • jill says:

hey trilby, i got the silk epil too or ‘my first epilator’ as i like to call it. during the first session i just thought oh god what have i just wasted 80 quid on, this is so painful! So i put it away for a couple of weeks. Then I tried it again there, and you know what – don’t use the little head with the few tweezy things, that just means you’ve to go over it and over it. I went straight for the experienced users head and it was much better! It took me ages to do the 2 legs that time, but i’m getting quicker. I can also barely go over the knee, but the hair above the knee is much softer & paler anyway so i don’t mind so much.

  • ANGELA says:

Great product! It did not completely numb the area but definitely was a lot less painfull – I had my eyebrows waxed with it. I tried to buy it on flairline website but they would not supply me as they only supply direct to salons. I bought finally managed to get it on http://www.noscreamcream.ie – will definitely use again.

  • Epilator says:

I know how the epilators feel. My GOD it’s so painful. I’m also part of the people who use the silk epilator – and it was also my first epilator. I used it the other day – 1st time, and epilated my calves, and that’s as far as I got. A few hours later I attempted the upper legs – got them done, then tried the bikini line (which did not hurt as much as the legs) then the worst – lower arms. I could not go higher than my lower arms. Urgh – and I thought epilating would be good. It is better than waxing which is messy, and less regrowth than shaving, but I wish it wouldn’t hurt.

I haven’t attempted my underarms as I know I would die of pain.

Gotta buy No Scream Cream ASAP

  • I am a salon owner and would love to supply this product. I’m from the uk and would like someone to send me a contact number please.
    Thankyou
    Angela
