I have had this post about Too Faced sitting in my drafts for bleedin’ ages now, and seeing their gorgeous products in two actual physical locations recently (House of Fraser & Boots in Liffey Valley) has inspired me to finally finish it.
Too Faced cosmetics have been making major waves in the past while. It’s a brand us gals who like Pout and Benefit will go wild for – think retro-fabulous kitsch packaging, candy shades and serious makeupista cred.
They’re strong on gimmicky but effective stuff like their famous Lip Injection glosses, Faux Fur, which promises to pump up the volume on the weediest of lashes and Kitty Glitter, a range of glitters for face and body. They also do a range of just fab palettes, most of which I wholeheartedly covet. Palettes are a great way to get to know a brand before you buy full sized produtcs – you can get a good idea of the brands strengths (and weaknesses) from a mixed palette, plus they look so nice. Unfortunately, Too Faced are also the makers of one of my most disappointing products of 2006, more about which shortly.

That’s not all they do though – they’re also very strong on products like foundations, powder, shadow, blush and gorgeous Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick-esque compacts for lips and cheeks. I particularly love the glitter liners – they’re something other brands do too (MAC and Urban Decay for example) but my trusty Too Faced Starry Eyed Liner in Drunk Dial (a fab turquoise shade, left) is never far from hand. Prices are relatively reasonable – in and around the same as you’d pay for comparable products from Pout and Urban Decay, for example.
If all that wasn’t enough to tempt you then this might be: celebs love Too Faced – their products are regularly used on the OC and Desperate Housewives. Yay, I’ve always wanted to look like Skeletor Hatcher! Not!
Don’t fret if you’re not near a stockist because you can buy from HQhair.com. They currently have a selection of products for you to choose from including four fab palettes, Lip Injections and Lip Injection Intensive Plumping Mask.

Kitty Glitter – nearly as cute as Kitty Wong!!!!
I’m pretty sure I saw some Too Faced products (not too many though) in the Debenhams (formerly Roches) on Mary Street. Or is it Henry Street? I never know!
Ooohh did you? There’s a debenhams in Jervis which you’d get to off Mary St (it’s always been a Debenhams though) and a fab big Roches on Henry St – and I’m fairly sure that’s keeping the Roches name.
Roches=Debenhams now I think.
Roches/Debenhams have it in Blanchardstown I think
Which product did you hate? I think I must be missing something because I read the post twice and can’t find anything!
I’m pretty sure Benefit and Too Faced are made by the same people, which is why they are so similar.
Oh I’m gonna do a post about it in the next day or so – it was the liquify palette – SO disappointing! I am liquid liner mad and thought it would be the best thing ever – nuuu uh. the colour came out wishy washy and it was a total waste of 35 euro. You live and learn!
i have that sweet tarte pallet, its nice but you have to be into wearing pink make up a lot to get best use of it as it has loads of pink lip glosses and a pink shadow and a really candy pink blusher thats glittery but the onl other colours it gives are black and white shadows! so, i dont really think its that special, bit of a let down to be honest! but what i do love are the lip glosses that too faced make, iv got loads of them- they’re lovely juvly! and they taste soo yummy…..xex
