One of you got close yesterday with a guess as to what the weirdy pink yoke was. Shelly wondered, “Is it some sort of weird fake tan or cream or maybe even wax applicator??” Oh, she was pretty much correct, while the rest of you made stabs at it being a doofer for microdermabrasion, a vibrator, razor or even a teeth whitening gadget.
One of you was 100% on the money though. ShoB said, “I cant resist givning it away – it’s the ModelCo SunSponge … it’s like a shoe polish dispenser for fake tan with the sponge tip,” she revealed. Yup, that’s precisely what it is, ladies. €44 is the damage for this disposable, non-refillable gadget that comes in one custom shade and contains enough product for three-to-four full body applications. Hmm, seems pricey to me, though the brand say the dispenser is hygenic and that the sponge tip makes the application seamless.
Whaddya reckon? Now you know what the mystery gadget is, would you be interested in buying?

Eaww – hygenic, really???
Would only consider this if the sponge could be detached and washed, and if it was refillable. Bit pricey otherwise.
As a fake tan addict myself – though not an Oompa Loompa, more a light glow kinda girl – I don’t see how a tackie-whitener applicator can do a better job than your own be-gloved hands. To me it looks a bit gimmicky, and perhaps a bit unsanitary – or can you replace or wash the sponge before the next application?
Gimmick and a pricey one at that
Think I would want more applications for the price, really liked the ModelCo tan when I bought it a few years ago in NY. Think the gadget is a good idea though but would be better if it was refllabe and the sponge could be replaced.
Its a bit pricey and i feel you would end up with streaks with this, or gaps between strips.
yep, I go for refillable all the way. It’s really solid, it’s a crying shame to throw it away and have it end up as landfill.
If it was refillable I might give it a try but definitely won’t be trying it as it’s only good for 3 or 4 applications – I agree with Kirstie, it’s a shame to have to throw it away & especially after spending €44 on it!
Kirstie – I forgot to ask if it is any good? I would be interested to know if there is another fab applicator to rivel the good old mitt!
Emz – I’m not a tanner so haven’t given it a whirl myself.
Doh, I knew that! Would be interested to see the results!
a bit pricey for a non-refillable product, not for me
Not a hope Id fork out for this! Find the model co tan wears off really patchily anyway! Lol at the shoe polish dispenser comment!
Emz I bought my friend a dishwashing sponge yoke in lidl before for a euro which she found good for applying the tan to her back – it had a long handle! You can get a fancier St. Tropez one as well. I think the mitt is prob the best though although I know some people who use an old sock over a plastic glove – its easier to wash!
the size of the head on it….sure it would take hours to do just one leg! tanning mitt all the way!
I like the Model Co tan bout will be giving this a miss – looks akward and only 3/4 uses – seems a bit wasteful
Ams – LMAO at the dishwashing sponge, genius
Ha ha that’s gas cant believe how close i came to guessing it correctly
Not sure if i like the idea of it though, espically as you cant refill it!
way to pricing for what it is me thinks
The sponge looks a bit yuck!
