Rate it: What ‘Sleb Styles do You Like?

Here’s the thing. I met Nicky Clarke a couple of years ago in a work-related connection and one of the things I asked him was what were the hairstyles he was tipping for success in the future. According to the bouffanted one, that whole thing was seriously O.U.T and he couldn’t see for the life of him that there’d ever be another ‘Rachel’ or ‘Meg’ to set women’s hearts a-flutter on a global scale.

But with the New York Times recently tipping Gossip Girl star Blake Lively’s tousled blonde mane as the most worthy successor to the Rachel crown, and women the length and breadth of Britain and Ireland in envy of Cheryl Coles glossy (and scandalously extensioned) locks, not to mention the extreme attention Posh garners when she so much as changes her parting, you could very definitely argue that we’re still Very Interested In Celebrity Hair Now Altogether. So we are.

For my part, Cheryl’s hair is nice, fine, grand, whatever like, Blake’s is Veronica-Lake tastic but not my cup of tea and Posh’s new do is like something a middle aged mammy might get because it’s ‘practical’. Gick, in other words.

So, of the three stars who inspire such extreme hair envy, which do you prefer?

Obsessed with Blakes hair, its perfection :)

  • razzle dazzle says:

Yeah I’d rather have that then either of the other two! It’s healthy and real looking and not too over done! Cheryl… I’m looking at you!
    Posh is just meh!

  • ShellBelle says:

Love Blake’s hair. My hair is blonde and the same length but can’t for the life of me get it to do that wavy/flicky thing. Le sigh.

Secretly love Cheryl’s hair though. Think its ok for the telly but would be too much in real life.

  • laineyg says:

Well, the thing about Blake and Cheryl, unlike meg or rachel, is that they are much more difficult to achieve – either by cost (extensions) or simply growing it that long! Just not as accessible so while we may lust after it it’s not so easy to go into a salon and ask for one.

I actually liked Posh’s new do – not the photo you have but saw another one and I did like it. It didn’t look ‘mammy’ in the shot I saw, just funky, but I did think it was just a different styling of her bob rather than a more permanent ‘do…

I love Blake’s. It looks so effortless(which I am sure it’s not) Cheryl’s is too ‘done’ looking all the time but it looks good for the telly!

  • ilovetoshop says:

I love Danni Minogue at the moment, I never knew you could get so many styles from a bob!

  • Gee Gee says:

Blakes hair please, gonna try and attempt to get mine to look like that for my next night out. I’ve heard that in GG, they added extensions to her hair so that she has thicker hair and they can do all the dos on her then and also just to make it longer but on red carpet etc its just her own hair which I think looks better :D

  • rosey says:

Love Blake Lively’s hair. Cheryl looks like she just skinned a Wookie and plonked it on her head .

  • LouLaBelles says:

Love Blakes hair! How would you ask your hairdresser to do this blowdry?
Getting a blowdry for a party at the weekend and want the look Blake has but not sure if hairdresser will get what I am on about!
    Any ideas?

  • tina says:

I love Posh’s new relaxed look! Also love Dannii’s hair!

  • laineyg says:

Bring a photo or two LouLaBelles! I’ve done that before.

I think heat had a description of how to do it a few weeks ago but I’m not certain…

  • Breige says:

Meh, don’t like any of them to be honest. Is it me or does Cheryl’s hair look too fake there? You can tell it an ad or something as it doesn’t look as real as the other two above. If I was absolutely forced to pick I’d pick Cheryl’s as I used to have hir simliar to it before I cut it (though I don’t need extensions!!)

  • Annie says:

Blake Lively’s hair is hardly a look though is it? It’s just slightly wavy blonde hair. I mean it is lovely, and in enviable condition, but there’s not an exact style to really. I dunno, maybe I’m wrong but to me there’s been millions of blonde birds with that hair before not like when there was a ‘Rachel’ or a ‘Meg’.

  • Ciara says:

I know Cheryl’s gruaig isn’t all her own but I have to admit that I am jealous of that fabulous bouncy hair! Maybe because I have straight brown hair that I constantly need to curl or wear extensions with to give it that extra oomph…grass is greener on the other side and all that…Needless to say I won’t be using any L’oréal to (apparently) give it back its “mojo”, though!

  • cailín says:

    i want to be blake..perfection.

  • Keara says:

I like Blake’s hair, but does anyone prefer Leighton Meester’s?(Blair Waldorf) Her hair just looks so full and healthy.

  • Anneml says:

Blake Lively’s hair is just nice but slightly messy waves, nothing special. Cheryl’s “wig” gets more ridiculous by the week, the bigger the hair gets the thinner she becomes. Is she, in fact, being consumed by her hair?

The real Veronica Lake hair is what I would like to emulate!

  • Leelee Dee says:

    I totally adore blake lively!!
her hair is amazing and she is STUNNING!!
good to know she is finally being appreciated!!
have a total girl crush on her!!
