They’re coming to give master-classes using her new Spring ‘07 makeup range, which contains “the prettiest shades for lips, face and eyes available, to update your Spring wardrobe“.
To book, call 01 2910426. Tickets cost €35 which is fully redeemable against any Trish McEvoy purchase made on the day. Sweet!

Her make-up brushes are supposed to only faaabulous altogether dahlings!!
I did this when they had one in BT’s a while back. Would recommend it, it is a lesson as much as a make-up/over. The artist takes you through each stage; they do one side of your face and get you to do the other, step by step. BUT it was a very hard sell. Trish McEvoy created a filofax organiser for make up – a very clever idea. You buy all of the products, unpackaged, and attach them to magnetised inserts that go into the “Make-up Planner”.
As the make up artist is working on your face they keep putting the products they’ve used into a planner. At the end of the session, my very nice, smiley American make-up artist asked, “Now what would you like to take today?” “Well,” says I, “I’ll take everything, but if you’re asking me what will I BUY, just the price of the session thanks”! LOL I asked how much everything in the planner would cost – 400 approx!!!
Trish McEvoy herself was present at this and made a point of going around and talking to everyone there – very impressed. AND there were nibbles and champers, so a very pleasant session, but a VERY, VERY hard sell at the end. Your make-up artist brings you down to the counter to stock up on your purchases. I’ve never seen someone stop smiling so quickly as when mine realised I wasn’t spending more than 50 quid.
If you’re planning to go to this take a look at the counter first and see what you might like. Each season she makes what are called – “The Little Black Card” – a small, filled mirrored compact. I got one of those, it has bronzer, blush, 3 eye shadows, concealor, lip glosses. I’ve taken out some and put in some of my own colours and it’s perfect to bring on a night out.
A product I’d really recommend is her “Finish Eye Line”, a liquid that can be used to convert eyeshadow to waterproof eye liner. You need to get a brush to go with it.
Regarding the brushes, they are fantastic. That’s what she started out doing – making brushes, because as a make-up artist herself she couldn’t find what she wanted. I have to confess to getting mine on EBay, a set of 10 (and they are the genuine article) set me back a little bit more than I paid for ONE brush and the Finish Eye Line.
Hope this post isn’t too long????
Little Miss – no, it’s brilliant, thanks! and I think we may put it up as a post in its own right!
Thanks littlemiss – that’s SUCH good info!! Haha hillarious – you were dead right to stick to your guns! I have to confess I’m not usually so brave though…
Fab review Sarah – excellent insider knowledge on that one, good on ya!!!
Ah gee, thanks, I’m blushing now.
OOPS Gio, I’m not Sarah, think I may have picked a name that’s too close to someone elses, so I better rename myself quick – Principessa. Now do I just change my name next time I post, or do I need Admin’s help?
littlemiss – just do it yourself next time, no bother
Sorry Little Miss! Sarah’s email starts with littlemiss and someone asked her over on blather if she was littlemiss here and she said she was! Sorry for the mix up! Excellent review, those ‘hard sells’ are just so embarassing!!!
Do you know what it is – Sarah is littlemiss on Swap Siopa!! On Beaut.ie she is sarah – but her email is littlemiss! So Principessa consider yourself renamed!
