Waiting for the Lisbon coverage to begin!

  • Kirstie says:

ugh smothered with a cold. Himself is honing his germ warfare skillz by giving me the lurgy. Feel ROTTEN

  • prudence says:

Praise the lord and pass the biscuits! Looks like it’s a YES. Ganley and Coir have conceded defeat!.

  • Orlando says:

No Lisbon percentages as of yet….

  • Gracie says:

Eughhh, head too sore for that kinda talk! Anyone nice plans for the weekend? Was at the Pixies last night, brilliant stuff…heading to the Music Show in the RDS on sunday too….todays just a hangover lunch in Malahide with a friend :)

  • ShellBelle says:

Woohooo for the Yes camp. So happy no-one paid any heed to those god awful No posters.

Gracie – lucky you! LOVE the pixies.

  • Dawn says:

    Yay for the Yes side!

The boyfriend has gone away for the weekend so I’m using the quiet time to do a pile of college work. I don’t want to spend my masters pulling all-nighters in a desperate effort to get essays finished.

  • April says:

Morning ladies, Poor Kirstie the best thing you can do is snuggle up on the sofa with some goodies and watch some trashy tv that will make you feel better because its pretty miseable out here and don’t know about where you are but its ugh here :)
I supposed to be going to a party tonight and the thought of getting ready to go out and get pressie and come back and get ready, I’m not very motivated this morning.

  • ShellBelle says:

Anyone else looking forward to the x factor tonight? I swear if Louis doesn’t boot of those eejity twins from Dublin I’ll go over and strangle them myself. But I know he’ll keep them because they’re irish. BAH!

  • Gracie says:

Shellebell, I cant wait to see the X-factor tonight! Kinda makes my saturday night and I never want to go out now…yes I know how sad that sounds :) Ah well, its recession friendly

  • jill says:

oooh i just came home from the zoo to find our lovely new stove http://www.waterfordstanley.com/Products/965.htm sitting in our newly enlarged & perfectly plastered fireplace.

We’d 3 lads in kango-hammering at 9am, they were plastering by 945, and the whole job done by 1. yay for good tradesmen! They didn’t even have a cuppa, or touch the biccies.

Not very beautieous news, but i’m very happy about it.

  • Aphrodite says:

    Dawn – rejoice rejoice!
Jill – nothing un-beautieous about it – when we did our upstairs I thought my heart might burst with happiness, new things for the house rock. Our guys ate us out of house and home – but to be honest they were worth it.

    Dying for x factor too!

  • Hermione says:

    Jill – Fab stove!

Glued to the Lisbon coverage. Delighted for the Yes side, but quite shocked by the size of the turnout. 75% turnout in a referendum is extraordinarily high.

Dying for X Factor too! Those twins are a nightmare though: I wish they weren’t Irish. They’d never have got so far if it wasn’t for that.

  • ladyelvis says:

O’ Snodaigh looks particularly dishevelled on TV….wish I could stay in tonight for X Factor-damn you friends for having birthdays!

  • tina says:

Oh I’m pretty sure Louis will put the twits through to the live final. Unfortunately! They’re so embarrassing to watch!

Just back from town. When I left home I actually got so soaked on the way in that had to go buy an emergency hoody! Horrible!!

  • Hermione says:

I obviously need more coffee. That 75% must have been a constituency figure. National turnout was 58%, which is much more standard.

Tina – :( I once go so drenched whilst on holiday in Florence that I had to buy new shoes and socks, because my shoes fell apart in the rain!

Ladyelvis, I’m like Gracie – I actually like staying in now so I can watch X factor

  • ShellBelle says:

Haha, its so sad that I’m staying in to watch X-Factor

I’m not getting to see the referendum coverage because I’m the only Yes voter in a Eurosceptic household. Bah.

I’m filling out applications for trainee solicitor jobs and have no idea if what I’m saying in them is right. I have to get all this sorted though because I’m only in my current job until the end of the year. Just want to get started with my training at this point but the job situation out there is dire.

  • cailín says:

donegal votes no!!we’re different up here(and stubborn too it seems!)

  • Dobby says:

Eugh – more study for the FE1s this weekend. But it’s my last w/end of study. Finished this Friday. I cannot wait!
Very jealous of the boyf – off to Leinster v Munster this evening. I was offered tickets but have to study. Boooo! Oh well, will make up for it next week at their Heineken cup match.

  • BBG says:

Jill, that’s a very handsome stove, it deserved a post! :)
I wish we had our own place, I’m sick of renting. I had to count it for filling some papers: I moved 9 times in the last 10 years. Thinking of putting my moving skills on my cv at this stage…

  • jill says:

ah thanks girls! its pretty perverse of me to be wishing for a bit of cold so i can light it. i think i’m so excited because my maternity leave starts mid-dec so the prospect of a cosy living room this winter is extra-deadly

  • Gracie says:

Well Jill Im dead jealous of your stove :) I dream of having a country kitchen when we eventually buy a house!!

Anyone gone/going to the Music Show in the RDS this weekend?

  • Orlando says:

BBG – wow, that is a lot of moving!
    Jill – luv the stove!

  • ladyelvis says:

Pretty quiet round town this weekend-everyone holed up in front of X factor-definitely not missing tonight’s show! No hangover today despite copious amounts of champagne last night (fancy friends!)

  • ShellBelle says:

X Factor was brill last night. Got so excited about the guest judges – Kylie and Will Young. Simon’s got a tough decision!

Got samples of the Shiseido White Lucency Range yesterday, loving the moisturiser!

  • KellBell says:

Does anyone know if the French brand Bioderma is stocked anywhere in Ireland?

  • tina says:

ShellBelle – Simon has the best category, no doubt about that!

Spending the day planning a holiday, looking for hotels etc. Oh decisions decision… ;) Getting so excited I can’t sit still and haven’t even booked the flights yet, so not 100% certain. Will be heartbroken if have to cancel plans :( Flights are bleedin’ expensive these days! There are no bargains around at all. :(

  • tina says:

Kellbelle – never heard of that brand. Did you check on their website?

  • KellBell says:

Tina – yep, checked the website and i don’t see any listing for stockists but i think it’s a pharmacy stocked brand so that might be why. Thanks anyway :)

  • CB says:

KellBell – I don’t think you can get it in Ireland. I have their cleanser but I bought it online. Can’t remember where though, it was some online pharmacy site, I just googled it. You can get it in most pharmacies in France if you know anyone going there!

  • Aphrodite says:

How the hell can John and Edward be through to the live finals?? Our country is disgraced

  • tina says:

Aphrodite – I know! I was just saying to hubby that Louis Walsh is probably the most hated man in Ireland right now. It’s embarrassing!

  • KellBell says:

Cheers CB! Unfortunately don’t know anyone heading to France – but not to worry :) How do you find the cleanser?

  • CB says:

I find it great. It doesn’t take off eye-make really though so had to get a seperate eye makeup remover. Takes the make up off, leaves my skin nice and clean and not at all tight. I have v. sensitive skin and eczema and it doesn’t irritate it at all, which is a miracle for me! The bottle I have is huge so reckon it’ll last for months!

  • KellBell says:

    Thanks CB!
