Last year when I visited Asta in Brown Thomas to check out the Estee Lauder Brow Bar promo it was like a light going on as she imparted eyebrow wisdom the like of which I’d never heard before.
- Now I understood why it was not a good idea to pluck your eyebrows while looking in a hand mirror. (You don’t see how one eyebrow matches up with the other and the potential for disaster is huge).
- Now I understood why I had a gap in the middle of my left eyebrow that I had to fill in with shadow every morning. (I was cutting too much off).
- And I finally understood that the reason eyebrow waxing hurts so damn much is because the therapists are usually doing it all wrong and using the wrong quality wax. (They should be using facial hair quality Lycon wax or similar.)
So this time I made sure I had not over plucked, over cut or plucked one eyebrow in isolation. In fact I did not touch my eyebrows for THREE WEEKS in order to make sure Asta could get the best shape. She actually took a snap of the Yeti brows before she started so we could do a before and after – but I just can’t bear to put it up, I’m sorry.
Needless to say I was thrilled with the end result. Read this to find out how she works her magic. And the experience is made better this time by the addition of a hydrating eye mask.
Click here to find out more and make your booking. But hurry – this was a sell out this time last year and it’s going into Beaut.ienomics cos it’s just an all round bargain. It costs €20 for this expert service which is redeemable against products and a mini eyelash primer and doublewear mascara plus eyelash curlers make up your free gift.

is this service all year round? I got it done last september and the shape was beautiful but I got those little spots around my eyebrows.
Do they have this in BT Limerick?
I went to Asta several times and she was fantastic! But I had to stop cos my streaming eyes and the burning red of my newly waxed brows were really beginning to worry her.
Baby – the Brow Bar is open all year round – it’s has the added bonus of the free gift at the moment though!
Dee – I will check!
I was at Asta a couple of times last year and found her to be fantastic! Am deliberately not touching my eyebrows at the moment so that she has more material to work with. I am thinking of investing in the Idealist mask thingy that was blogged about here as my redeemable purchase. Either that, or some DoubleWear eye goodies. Decisions, decisions!
Hermione – I needed a new foundation so I got the Doublewear Light yesterday – never tried it before so dying to see how I get on with it
Aphrodite – Is this service available in BT Cork?
Baaaaadly need to get my brows seen to! (Plus I’m out of pressed powder so could look for that as well while I’m there)
Snap Aphrodite – I bought my DoubleWear Light as one of my redeemable purchases last year! I’ve been using it for nearly a year now and I really like it. I never tried the original DW, but the light variation is hardly noticeable on your skin, I find. Very wearable and not at all heavy.
Ellen in Waxperts did a super job on my brows last weekend – I don’t have much to work with but she still managed to make a difference!
Ooh this sounds tempting! I usually tend to get an eyebrow sculpt every few months for shape and tidy up..!! Aphrodite, do they wax above and in between the brows? And alo do they leave the plucking to above the eye?
Beauty Junky – I think waxing and plucking is mixed – if you need both you’ll get both! Super job though, it just looks so neat and tidy and perfectly shaped!
Now must find out about Cork and Limerick! Perhaps someone from BT will email me?
Thanks Aphrodite! I think will have to go and leave the brows alone until I do! Am very impressed by the free gift and redeemable purchase offer, don’t buy EL products really so need to get thinking what to add to the collection…! Will it be Asta who does all the appointments? Sorry to be asking another question she just sounds so good!
Beauty Junkie – when you ring to book just ask for Asta
Very informative post! You’re right, it’s not good to pluck my eyebrows while looking in a hand mirror because most of the time it resulted to an imbalance eyebrows.
Hi guys,
I think they are the only two that do it so i think EL should train a few more people as when the girls are off there is no one else to do this
I regularly get mine done with Beata and Asta. Beata does them in EL in House of Fraser in Dundrum and is equaly as good. Great job and the girls are really nice too
I think Belfast HOF does it too but I am pretty sure it’s not in Cork or Limerick.
Aphrodite, based on your rec, I went to Asta just before Xmas last year.
I had never had anything done to my brows before, other than plucking them myself. Generally I’m trying to build them up rather than take away – my eyebrows are virtually non-existent (see Guerlain LOL!) so I was very cautious about getting anything done to them, but I called into Asta before I made an appointment and she convinced me that waxing the baby hairs above and below the brow would make a difference. She was right, I was delighted with the result. The waxing didn’t hurt, the hairs didn’t grow back longer, or thicker, or darker. And Asta is lovely, would highly recommend her to any other brow virgins out there.
Outside of the offer time you can still redeem your 20 euro against product, you just won’t get the extra goodies.
The offer is also available in HOF Dundrum where the lovely Beata pruned me into shape during the holliers 2 weeks ago…
