New Face for Estee Lauder Cosmetics

Model Hilary Rhoda is to be the new face of Estee Lauder, she’s pretty damn gorgeous, isn’t she?

We’ll soon be seeing her in ads but she won’t actually be taking over from their current faces like Liz n’ Gwyneth, merely ‘supplementing’ them. I’m sure they’ll be thrilled!

Estee Lauder wanted Hilary because she’s “one of fashion’s brightest stars,” and ‘her sophisticated all-American’ look is perfect for the brand. But the thing I like most about her is that she was brought up in a town called Chevy Chase! AWEmazing! (I love Chevy, he was so dreeemy in Fletch. And Caddyshack. But not as Clark Griswold)

What’s also interesting about this is actually not the announcement of their new face, but the revelation of the fact that they own the following brands – Aramis, Clinique, Prescriptives, Origins, MAC, Bobbi Brown, Tommy Hilfiger, La Mer, Donna Karan, Aveda, Jo Malone, Bumble and bumble, Darphin, Michael Kors, Sean John, Missoni, Daisy Fuentes and Tom Ford Beauty. Fancy! They’re nearly as omnipresent as L’Oreal.

well I don’t know about that, a lot of people secretly fancied Chevy Chase even when he was a Griswald!

  • Admin says:

Oh god no, as Clark, he was not my cupan tae.
but in caddyshack? THOSE THIGHS! It’s probably no coincidence that Himself slightly resembles Chevy

  • Aphrodite says:

WHAT??!! Did you pick up a new Himself in the night?

  • Admin says:

    ah he does bit!

  • Ava says:

Just thought you gals would like to know that I had a gander at the new Estee Lauder Spring Limited Edition make-up last night and it’s BYOOOOOOTIFUL!

  • Nico says:

    Think they own stila too….

  • Admin says:

Ava – I feel a blog post coming on..

  • Ava says:

Lovely – I’m talking myself into buying a few of the items as we speak so a blog post will be just the encouragement I need. Mind you after the Philip B fiasco yesterday I think I may need to start rationing my beaut.ie visits!!

  • beautfan says:

Who is Philip B – where can I find out what happened?

  • Ava says:

Kirstie posted an article yesterday on HQHair and mentioned Philip B products so I went off, did a bit of investigation (because my hair seriously needs some pampering) and ended up investing heavily. So it was a Philip B financial fiasco for me and my credit card!

  • beautfan says:

Thanks. My thing is to go into all these sites fill the shopping trolley right up then leave it all at the till.

  • Ava says:

Well I’m seriously curtailing the shopping now! This site is very dangerous, I’ve been discovering all kinds of new ‘toys’ that I felt I had to buy. I’m taking a break now until I see something totally irrestistable (which will probably be at about 3.30pm)
