To warm us up on this cold wintery day here's the first look at Chanel's playful and whimsical Spring Make Up Collection, Printemps Precieux, on counter from January 18th. Natural tones, bright pinks and unexpected deep purples all feature in this very pretty collection, based, apparently, on the notion that elegance and beauty should be simple and enjoyable.
The standout piece is this lustworthy highlighter, Poudre Signee de Chanel, €55, that lights up the face with a lovely blush pink sheen. It's a little work of art, imprinted with camellia flowers, lipstick cases and those iconic double C's.
For nails, there's this gorgeous oxblood shade of Le Vernis, Accessoire, which I adore, along with Emprise, a rosey beige, and Fracas, a vibrant hot pink. These are all €22. Eyes are understated with a choice of Les 4 Ombres in Raffinement, €47, with shades of shimmery beige, matte brown, coppery mink and taupe, or a beige and brown duo, Sable-Emouvant.

I'm already a little in love with the lipstick used in the campaign imagery - it's Rouge Allure Velvet in L'Eclatante, a bright pink, and there's also an equally bright coral that's calling my name. It's quite aptly named La Favourite.
Four shades of Rouge Allure will join them on counter - a soft rose, peachy beige, coppery shade and a deep violet-plum. I've been sent Captivante, the copper, which is probably my least favourite of them all but it's still very pretty and wearable, with a subtle amber shimmer throughout. They're all €30.50.
Swatched: Rouge Allure in Captivante, Poudre Signee de Chanel
A juicy apricot blusher (€37), lilac and rose gold eyeliner (€22.50) all sound absolutely delightful and definitely merit closer investigation come January!
