Lipstick Trick: The Foolproof Way To Line Lips

I know that lining my lips is an essential step in applying lippy but I rarely do it, for the simple annoying reason that it never works out for me. It always looks too sharp or it's the wrong colour or I change the shape of my lips by mistake and I don't have the patience to deal with those kinds of mistakes.

So, I'm usually a three step lipstick kind of gal, a stripe either side of my cupid's bow and another on the bottom lip and that's it!

However, I've learnt a new trick that makes the lining process so much easier so I've been changing my lipstick ways. You're welcome in advance because I'm going to share it with you.

As with all beauty hacks, it's really easy and simple. All you do is take a sharp lip liner that's as close to the shade of your chosen lippy as possible and smile a little bit - like you're getting a passport photo taken and you don't want passport checkers to think your bitchy resting face is the real you. Grit your teeth if you have too. A half smile tightens the lips and makes it easier to follow the natural line.

For a perfectly filled in pout, scribble in your liner at the sides of your lips and then apply your lipstick to the rest using a lip brush. It takes a few steps but it doesn't take long and you get a perfectly coloured in smile at the end of it. It works.

Oh, and have a second lip liner on hand just for concealer on on the off chance that you do make a minor mistake.

How you do apply the perfect lip? Do you have any other tips or tricks to share?
