If there's one thing you could never accuse Francois Nars of, it's going for mainstream appeal with his ad campaigns. Creative and unusual though they frequently are, they don't usually inspire me to think "I want to look like that!" And his Spring 2009 campaign is no different.

Matte Garnet, €23, is the name of the eye shadow sported by the model. And yes, it is a brick red. Red is not a colour too many people can easily wear on their lids, as it has a tendency to enhance any redness in your eyes. Even when worn with a strong black liner, I think there are only a few who could get away with a look like this. I am definitely not one of them. Are you? If so, the Spring collection is on NARS counters now. If the red eye shadow isn't your thing, maybe something else will take your fancy.
