Beaut.ie How To: Get luscious loose waves the easy way!

curls

Fed up of trying to perfect the technique behind those GHD curls? Sick of spending aeons struggling with your curling tongs? Too broke to hand over your hard-earned to try heated rollers?

If the answer to these ceisteanna is yes, yes, and YES (and I don't mean in a good, Herbal Essences ad kind of way) then join with me in heaving a sigh of release. For there is, ladies, a rather easier way to achieve loose waves in your hair - without having to shell out on yet another electrical appliance.

While hair is still a wee bit damp after washing, simply take sections that are a couple of inches wide (the looser the curl you want, the thicker each section should be) and twist them from root to tip. Then either keep twisting so that the sections begin to turn back on themselves and blast with your hairdryer, or coil each of the individual twists up to create a load of loose mini-buns, and pin to your head using something like these flat clips. That's the lazy man's route, because you can just leave them to dry naturally, and is great if you're not in a rush.  I like the latter option, of course, and have even been known to go to bed with me twists in. (See, this technique is so ridiculously easy, you can do it in your sleep!)

Once your hair's dry, just unpin the mini-buns and shake those twists out, or gently comb through with fingers to separate.
