Fashion Bloggers Brunch Causes Product Musings

clarins fix’ make-up

The very lovely Annemaire O'Connor over at I Blog Fashion is galvanising all us style and beauty bloggers recently with her monthly Sunday meet-ups at my fave brunch joint, Odessa. We all dress up fancy, eat and chat and it's terribly civilised fun altogether. Plus, Ms O'Connor is VG with the goody bags. I missed the first jaunt because I was in Cork, but Aphrodite and Lynnie both swooned for the contents of theirs, and this time round, we were treated to some very nice Clarins goodies, including Fix' Make-Up. It's a 'refreshing mist with long-lasting hold', apparently, and it's designed to be applied in a sweep over your completed makeup.

It's very nice - cooling and pleasant-feeling, it also smells nicely of roses. But I'm not entirely sure of its fixative properties. My makeup tends to stay fairly intact as it goes, and I didn't really notice a big change. If you've oily skin, then I'd say that'd be the acid test.

For a mid-afternoon refresher, it's the business though - one spritz and I was wide awake all over again. Get it at department stores or chemists; it's in the €20+ region. But I want to know what you lot think - we had a brief natter about makeup fixatives recently and the concensus was mixed.  Let us know your thoughts in a comment!
