I've had a bad skin week. It happens to the best of us, and no matter how steadfastly I keep on top of my skincare, seasonal changes in weather and dreaded lady hormones will always take my beloved skin on a one way trip to blemish town.
Normally, I don't ever use foundation for coverage- that's concealer's job - but on days when I'm feeling a little more conscious of my skin, or for evening wear, I'll up the coverage.
This new offering from L'Oreal is very impressive considering the price. It's just about over the price of a budget foundation at 14.99, but it offers the coverage and formulation of a much more expensive foundation.
Unfortunately, the only shade that I could get my hands on is Golden Beige 140. Anyone who knows me will know that 'twas far from golden beige I was reared. Since my skin is the closest thing it can get to white and not be dead, I'm not going to photograph this on my face. It won't do me, you or the foundation any favours. I'll give it a swatch instead.
The coverage is medium to high and buildable. A very little goes a long way. If you like the 'masky' look, you can achieve that with this, but one pump will give an evened out complexion with a radiant finish. I know that matte is on trend at the moment, but I'm just not into it. A glowier finish is more my cup of tea, and this does the job nicely.

It also does live up to its claims about lasting power. Frankly, I'm not leaving it on my skin for 24 hours to see if it lasts that long; that's murderously bad for the skin. But this will go for ten or so hours without breaking a sweat. All good.
In fact, I like this so much that I think I'll rehome the ol' golden beige and head out to purchase my match from the eight available shades.
