Spring Scents: Five New Fragrance Faves!

spring scents

There’s a grand old stretch in the evenings now and it’s light enough in the morning for me to put my makeup on in the car again (I’m in the passenger seat) – which means, as far as I’m concerned, it’s springtime! Ok, so the weather’s not exactly playing ball but I’m reaching for lighter, brighter makeup colours and have switched up my scent selection, too. Here are my favourite five.

Roger and Gallet Citron: I fell in love with this light, citrussy scent last springtime and am now on my second bottle – the 30ml size is so handy for travelling, for chucking in your handbag or for keeping in your desk drawer at work. Not to mention more economical at €17.50 a pop, too.

LUSH Euphoria cologne: Part of the Set in Stone collection – comprised of nine new Gorilla fragrances – Euphoria is absolutely gorgeous. It’s unisex so it’s clean and fresh and, with clary sage, grapefruit, lime and neroli, it’s been created to make the wearer feel pretty darn good. All the new scents are available in six sizes – this one, the smallest, is €12.50 for 7 ml.

Balenciaga L’Essence: This delicate green floral is light and airy, with a slight powderiness. It’s almost unisex but there is a very slight sweetness there – with notes of violet and violet leaf it also has quite an old fashioned quality to it. It’s such a lovely scent for day and perfect for this time of year. Read our full review.

Kiehl’s Nashi Blossom and Pink Grapefruit: A Christmas present from my bestie, this is my first Kiehl’s scent and I absolutely love it. Pink grapefruit is one of my favourite scents – it’s so uplifting and to my nose it’s the strongest note in the mix. This is quite a sweet, fresh fragrance and I can’t wait to get my hands on the matching body cleanser.

Stella Nude: I was given this at an event last year and wasn’t sure if I’d like it – transpires that I do, and rather a lot, too. It’s predominately a gentle rose scent, with a hint of grapefruit for freshness, and another lovely daytime choice.

    Emma loving your nails!

Still loving my Jo Malone Blackberry and Bayleaf perfume.

I’ve been wearing a sample of the Balenciaga one lately and quite like it, not enough to purchase mind. My go to spring scent is Frederic Malle Lys Meriterrane (can’t spell), smells exactly like lilies, so not one for hot weather or you’ll be gassed but it’s lovely on a cool fresh day.

Ooh nice, I wear the Rose Imaginaire one from Roger and Gallet. It’s lovely but I’d love to try the Citron one, I’m a divil for citrus!

I’m loving Balenciaga Florabotanica. It is floral (no sh!t Sherlock!) with a twist. I’m really bad at explaining scents so have no idea how to put that twist into words.

  • Emma says:

Aine, thanks! It’s an LVX shade – you can find them at cloud10beauty. Gracie I really like Florabotanica too and littlesis I think pretty much all the R&G scents rock xo

Clarins Eau de Jardain. Always puts me in a good mood. For nights out (rare as they are) Miss Dior Fraiche.

  • Jennifer says:

I wear either Chance by Chanel (the twisty sprays are deadly) in the Spring/Summer as its a fresh, light scent. My usual JPG is really too heavy for the fresher weather I think.

I am in love with Kiehl’s new fragrances! I got the Pink Grapefruit scent before Christmas and then got the shower gel and body lotion as Christmas presents :)

Now I am testing out two of the other ranges – Fig/Sage Leaf and Orange Flower/Lychee.

As usual, Kiehl’s are super generous with samples and so I get a chance to use the stuff properly before buying, and in return they get more sales from me! Win-Win.

I love all Stella perfumes, but I find they really don’t last on me. My current fave is Agent Provocateur Petal Noir http://www.agentprovocateur.com/beauty/fragrances/info/p%C9tale-noir-30ml

  • Kitty In The City says:

I should add I don’t own Petal Noir, I got into Debenhams and spray myself with it whenever I’m passing.

I’m in actual love with Lancome La Vie Est Belle. My friend was smelling all my perfumes recently & came to that & just exclaimed “This smells so much like you!”

Love the nails! I like R&G scents too – especially their citrussy ones

Also laughing at “a grand stretch in the evenings”. THANKS BE TO JESUS!

Yayy spring. Its a beautiful day today!!
I got given rose body lotion by roger and gallet. Its a youthful fresh pink rose.
I will dig out my hermes un jardin sur le nil. Think soft juicy mangoes on a hot hot day to cool you down. Yeah hot like central heating perhaps here in ireland.
Finally chanel 18. Strange feminine quiet wood rose that some say also has carrot or fresh bread notes lol. It ends up being a little powdery towards the end of the day.

Just bought Miller Harris ‘La Pluie’ recently. Fitting title for the recent weather, but it’s actually more of a tropical floral.

Day to day, I wear either Parfum Initial Shalimar by Guerlain or Infusion d’Iris by Prada. The Prada smells deliciously Italian!

My favourite for evening is Black Orchid by Tom Ford, but I sometimes wear l’Eau Ambree by Prada.
