I've always been a bit meh when it comes to primers. I like hydrating ones and mattifying ones and use them occasionally but, in terms of extending the lifespan of my makeup, I've not been too impressed.
On days when I really need my makeup to last - an after work event, maybe, or just a really long day in the office - I have turned to longwear foundations to do the job.
Recently though, my preferences have changed. I'm not as fond of a full coverage, semi matte base as I used to be - and longwear products do tend to fall into that camp.
These days I prefer a BB or CC cream with lighter, more natural coverage ... and the flipside of that is they don't have the same lasting power. They just about get me through to 5 o'clock, and then poof - like magic, they've disappeared as if they were never there.
