You know how it is: One minute you’re a sane, rational human being, ambling through life without a care in the world, the next you’re a raving lunatic because of something you saw online.
Oh, that’s just me? Well seriously, take a look at this t-shirt that was until recently available on ebay.
How is this funny? What is the world coming to when there's somebody out there who feels there's a market for clothing that perpetuates and makes light of rape culture? Who in their right mind would buy and wear this monstrosity?
Luckily for me and my rage, Everyday Sexism and it's 94,000 Twitter followers took care of this situation. They launched a twitter campaign #EverydayRapeCulture and Ebay promptly removed the listing. Win!

This small triumph warms the feminist cockles of my heart. A corporate giant reacting swiftly and positively to a reasonable request from an online feminist campaign. A lot of rational, level-headed feminists, male and female, using social media to make a real change happen, one t-shirt at a time.

Check out @EverydaySexism on twitter for more discussion on feminism. They really do a great job of highlighting this kind of blatant offensive crap AND the subtler sexism that usually slips by without comment. The more insidious discrimination deserves daily attention, and these more barefaced incidents can be remedied in the space of a couple of hours.Magic!
