It's a mini revolution! Compressed deodorants: what's the story?

Ok this IS actually amazing.  Cosmetic companies are fond of squawking about revolutionary this and ground breaking that - but this time it looks like they HAVE done something  jaysus brilliant.

Compressed deodorants come in teeny little cans and look just like mini handbag deodorants.  And yet a 75ml can claims to last as long as a regular 150ml one.

How?

Well here comes the science.  Aerosol deodorant first burst onto the market in the 1960s and has been bravely battling BO and sweat patches ever since, in the big cans that we're used to.  These new "compressed" deodorants use 50% less propellant to deliver each spray - it's the propellant that was taking up all the space in the can.

So you use the deodorant exactly as you would your regular one - you blast those pits for as long as you normally do.  And the can will last just as long as the old big one did.  I've been using mine and it seems to be working just fine and dandy so far.

And in case that's not enough excitement for one day, this new product is also kinder to the environment.  Unilever, the makers of Dove, Vaseline and Sure, tell us that the new cans use 25% less aluminium and the reduction in size reduces the carbon footprint of the product by the same percentage.

The amount of aluminium saved is equivalent to 769,231 cans o' minerals.

Amazeballs eh?
