Rate it: Favourite shops for fashion

There are certain stores that are my go tos when I NEED some retail therapy.  Which unfortunately for my finances turns out to be pretty feckin regularly.  I know them so well I know my size (because as you know every shop seems to exist in its own space time continuum and determine its sizes by some mysterious unstandardized process).  So I know I will be a bigger size in Top Shop then I’ll be in Oasis for example – and this fact means that I’m more likely to shop in Oasis.  Because otherwise I will be depressed – AND THAT IS NOT THE POINT OF SHOPPING!

I love to browse online before I buy to see what’s out there and I have certain shops I’ll always go to for certain things: party frocks (French Connection); generally yumminess (Zara); workwear (Next); Dunnes (er kind of everything) and for a major massive event the fashion floors of Brown Thomas and Arnotts send me into a spin of delight, the likes of which cannot be equalled.  I’m an aul creature of habit.

So what about you?  Which stores do you love the best and pick up loads of gear in?  Penneys, Dunnes, AWear, River Island, Coast, New Look, H&M?

Go on – rate your favourites for fashion!

I basically only go to Massimo Dutti and Zara. Penneys for PJs.

Occasionally venture into Banana Republic but don’t get much. I love the brands in Arnotts but a lot (T Tahari for example) don’t fit. Sadness. Liberty is my mail destination for weeping and lusting (and very occasionally an Anglomania purchase)

Oasis is my absolute fave. I take note of the days when I don’t enter an Oasis store. On my walk up to/from Grafton Street I can do the one at the bottom (Nassau Street) and the one at the top (Stephen’s Green). I also pay visits to Warehouse and Coast (Oasis’ sisters)

When the sales are on it’s Next (work and casual wear) and River Island (accessories/shoes).

  • Zara and River Island… and you cant beat Penny’s

I Love Debenhams…but only shop from the Sale Rails…the exchange rate from Sterling to Euros in these UK shops is ridiculous, so I refuse to pay over the Odds. Same with River Island…Used to be my fave shop, but far too pricey now. New Look is good also, and Penneys of course.

For clothes Gap, Zara, Mango and Oasis are the main shops I go to. Occasionaly I pop into A-wear for something cheap and chearful. Debenhams is purley for browsing. For shoes its Ecco and Clarks with the occasional sprinkling of Campers. For accessories I pretty much stick to Accessorize or random spotting of items in the other shops. Of course – Arnotts is my treat shop!

I love Zara for blazers, bags and jewellery, for jeans, I’m a Topshop or Oasis girl (I’m a whole size bigger in Topshop too, Aisling!).

I love Warehouse for going out stuff and recently, fallen in love with NW3 at Hobbs, which is expensive but so lovely.

I tend not to buy much stuff in Penneys, don’t like when everyone has the same thing and the quality irks me.

I love new look because it’s beside me at work and I can pop in for a quick look.

I like to shop in A|Wear and Dunnes when I’m in Ireland because it’s not as common over here in London town. Online I will shop awear and h&m because I love nothing more than a bargin (today’s dress cost me £3!)

I love Clarks for my shoes though and will spend a bit more on them so that they last and don’t kill my feet!

    New Look
River Island (used to love them much better, now I rarely stop by)
Topshop (rare visits because sizes make me depressed. I go to Oxford St Topshop every time I’m in London. Best.Shop.Ever.)

But my main weakness is ASOS. It’s like my kryptonite.
