LONG SLEEVED PARTY DRESSES: FOR GIRLS WHO DON'T CARE TO BARE

So you hate your arms?

Bingo wings? Hairy arms? Pale and pasty and hate wearing fake tan? Or do you just not like to be too bare?  I bet you actually don't have any of these issues, but whatever your reason, fear not, I've found the best long sleeved party dresses to cover them up without sacrificing style.

There is nothing worse than finding a dress you love but wishing it had sleeves. Of course you can always get yourself a shrug or a wrap to cover up, but it can be impossible to find one in the right colour – or just as hard, in the right shade of black – not to mention the right style! So a long sleeved party dress would be perfect, yeah? Think they are hard to find? I am happy to tell you there are plenty out there to suit all shapes, sizes and arm haters!

CANOPI
But, before we get started, if you already have a dress and wish it had sleeves or find a dress that would be perfect for you if it had sleeves, then have a look at these. You may have seen them advertised already and they're brilliant.  Costing just €39.95, Canopi (which are available from boutiques nationwide or by logging onto www.canopi.ie) clip onto your bra to give you sleeves.

The mesh style is slightly see through and comes in black, white and cream and is perfect for evening.  The microfibre version comes in black, cream and grey, completely covers your arms to suit day or night.

Now, back to dresses! If you have a few euro squirreled away for a new gúna, then here’s what’s out there.

LONG
If a dress for a formal event is what you need, then any of these would be ideal and should last you for ages. Choose wisely when you're buying a dress like this and if its expensive make sure it is one that will still be stylish in years to come, by picking a classic look.

LBD
You can’t go wrong with a little black dress, even the one you've had in your wardrobe for years. It is a classic, easy to style, always expensive looking and slimming as well! Here are a few with full sleeves, but not heavy ones.

COLOUR
Tired of boring black? These hot little numbers will make sure you stand out in the crowd. Red is a classic for Christmas, but don’t restrict yourself. Choose a colour you love and you can wear it all year round.

EMBELLISHED
Hate shopping? Find yourself a dress that has already accessorised itself and you're good to go.   These dresses only need killer heels. Just be careful buying a dress like this, as it is not as versatile to style so you might tire of it quickly.

CAP SLEEVED
Some of you might not feel you need a full sleeve but just don’t want to look too bare, so a cap sleeve is perfect.  It gives you just the right amount of arm cover. Any of these dresses would be perfect for a dressy day event too.

LACE
A wardrobe classic that's totally on trend this year, there are lots of lace numbers out there for all ages. And remember the lace doesn't have to be black; you can go for colour too, for a very cool look.

EDGY
If you're looking for a dress thats a little bit different, there are some great long sleeved ones out there. I found mostly black ones but keep on looking if these are too safe for you.

JUST A LITTLE DIFFERENT
Not quite an edgy girl but like to stand out a little?  These frocks are just a break from the norm without being too out there. Sometimes you just want to amp it up a notch and these are not quite cookie cutter. And of course sparkly is very fashionable right now - have a look through our Christmas fashion posts for lot at some Shiny Shiny fashion for  more inspiration.

Hope you find something to inspire you here.

Happy shopping!
