As if hanging out with Claude wasn’t treat enough, at the recent Clarins event I got to take away some products from the Enchanted Summer collection. This pretty, Indian inspired edit is new for summer 2012 and features a striking limited edition eye quad, €35.58, and a couple of interesting looking kohl liners, €18.30, in black and purple.
There are also some lovely lip and bronzing products that we’ll take a closer look at now.
This is Clarins Colour Quench Lip Balm in Delhi Nude, a bronzey nude shot through with gold shimmer. The brand revamped the Colour Quench range as part of last year’s summer collection and I have completely fallen in love with these glosses. Packed with conditioning agents like mango oil, hyaluronic acid and vitamin E, they have a lovely balm like texture and delicious fruity taste and smell. They’re shiny but not sticky and though they’re not cheap at €17.79, you do get a massive 15 ml of product for your money. Jaipur Pink will also be available as part of the SS12 collection.
Also for lips, Clarins have revamped their Instant Smooth Crystal Lip Balm. In their first iteration these were little more than a very fancy lip balm, shaped like a lipstick and bearing more than a passing resemblance to that old schoolyard classic, the push pop. This time around a core of colour has been added to the centre of the balm, so colour payoff is much better. It still retains the gorgeous candy scent and is available in sheer red, coral, violet or pink, for €20.33.
Last but not least this mineral powder bronzing duo, €33.04, elicited oohs and aaahs when Claude passed it around at the event. Needless to say I was delighted to discover it in our goody bags. It comes with SPF 15 and is available in light, medium or dark – I have medium, which contains one shade with a slight shimmer and a lighter, more matter colour, which can be blended together or used separately. Packaging is gorgeous – the trademark gold Clarins palette has been given a summer makeover with a striking amber lid.
