bb creams from superdrug and origins

Mark April on the pages of your calendar as that’s when Origins’ A Perfect World BB SPF 15 Age-defense tinted moisturizer with White Tea, €35.50 (what a name!) will land. Boasts? An impressive SIX shades, antioxidants and a pore-minimising claim come in this package. Is it a little confused though? BB or tinted moisturiser? BB or TM? Oh hell, I can imagine them thinking at Origins, lets just put both on there and watch those tills ring!

In May Superdrug launches its first own-brand BB cream. It’ll be a rather more affordable €11.15 and will come in two shades, light and medium. It offers SPF15, UVA and UVB filters, 24 hour hydration, antioxidant protection and will also conceal imperfections and enhance skin tone, apparently.

Have you gotten on the BB bandwagon yet?

Am waiting for one thats a) light enough for us that are paler than NC15 and b) stay on my oily tzone!!

Will have a look at the origins one when its out :)

  • Dying to try the Origins one and the Superdrug one sounds different to usual BB offerings. Intrigued on both counts.

I really like the sound of the Origins one but I can’t understand why all of these BB creams have such low SPF in them. Ideally I’d love a BB with SPF30 for this time of year….

I got the garnier samples recently, only tried them out today and am quite impressed…I’ll see how it lasts the day but its looking promising! I may add BB Cream to my make up bag

I have fallen off the bandwagon, I have realised they are just tinted moisturisers with fancy names, at least in Europe. Would love to try the Korean/Japanese ones.

Just tried the boots one in fair, I have very pale skin and it’s a good match when it goes on. I have been putting moisturiser under it as my skin is very dry and suffering that awful winter skin/ too much dry air at the moment, looking forward to trying in the summer on its own. Surprised at how good it is on the, ahem, slightly more mature skin, thought it would be intended for younger skin…

Am tempted to try the Origins one because I like the regular A Perfect World a lot. Hmmm. I have a tube of Smashbox (lovely but pricey) and half a tube of No 7 (perfectly adequate) to use up first anyway….

Origins Vitazing is amazing but too orange for me so hope this will be similar but lighter!

I just don’t feel a bb cream will give me enough coverage and I will have to use loads of concealer as well so I haven’t bothered with one yet. Might try the Boots one with my No 7 voucher though just to experiment.

I got all excited about the Superdrug one, then saw it’s not till May. Boo! I’m planning a trip (all the way from Cabra to Santry – must pack a flask) to Superdrug in Omni next week. They do the BEST moisturisor – huge tub for 3 quid, unscented, not tested on animals and very moisurising. I use it mainly on my legs and keep the fancy stuff for up top.
