The Wish List: What I’m Currently Coveting

lusts!

I’m a complete list-a-holic as well as a beauty junkie, so of course I have an ever growing wish list of beauty bits that I’m itching to try. Here are the top five that I’m currently saving my sheckles for…

1. Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour in Peridot

Sigh.

I hate myself a little bit for falling in lust with yet another Chanel polish, but Peridot had me from the very first glimpse of its olive green and antique gold metallic duochrome goodness.

It looks edgy and like it would be perfect for transitioning into autumn, although early reports are that it reads far more gold than green and loses some of its teal flash and molten, murky quality between the bottle and the nails. I’ll certainly be swatching before committing to a purchase when it’s released on August 19th along with the rest of Illusions D’Ombre de Chanel.

On the upside, the formula is said to be a serious improvement on previous Chanel nail polish offerings. Peridot is apparently opaque in two coats, which would make a nice change from the four usually required to get a decent finish.

2. New smellz

It seems that perfumes are a bit like buses: you wait ages to find one you like and then three nice come along at once. Typical. I’ve got a trio of tiny testers on the go at the moment that I’m trying to decide between. I think what’s making it so difficult is that they’re all quite similar, with floral top notes and warm, seductive, musky bases.

Love, Chloé, is a fragrance that I don’t really like on other people but seems to suit me well and smells warmly feminine without being too floral or sickly sweet. Cartier De Lune is a touch more sophisticated, while Narcisco Rodriguez Essence Eau De Musc is definitely the most seductive of the bunch.

This one might end up coming down to eenie-meenie-miney-mo, I reckon.

3. Too Faced Lemon Drop Colour Correcting Primer

My oily eyelids need a primer to keep shadow firmly in place and prevent it from creasing, and the original Too Faced primer has always been a firm favourite. I’m hoping it runs out shortly so that I can replace it with this yellow toned version, which promises to counteract redness on the eyelids as well as giving eyeshadow something to hold onto.

At the minute I’m using separate products for each jobs (Too Faced primer and Benefit Lemon Aid) so sure I’d practically be making money by buying this stuff.

4. Dior Addict Lipstick in 465, Singuliere, or 578, Diorkiss

Usually, I favour a non-sticky gloss over lipstick for daytime, but that could well be because I tend to gravitate towards lippie that’s super bright and creamy and opaque. Things might change around here if I get my hands on one of these gel-based beauties, though. Singuliere is a sheer, juicy, girly, bubblegum pink, while Diorkiss (the shade La Moss wears in the adverts, fact fans) is a slightly more soft medium rose pink. Both are free of the shimmer that’s present in many other shades in the Dior Addict range and frankly I’m having a hard time choosing between them.

5. Estee Lauder Idealist Even Skintone Illuminator

I’ve just sawn my trusty bottle of Estee Lauder Idealist Pore Minimising Skin Refinisher in half (using the breadknife – Himself was Not Impressed) to try and get at the product dregs, and I’m now trying to decide whether to repurchase or to replace it with the brand’s new Idealist Even Skintone Illuminator (check out this review of the matching eye product).

The product slut in me is, of course, leaning towards giving the new kid on the block a whirl and I do like the sound of it: Even Skintone Illuminator is an oil-free, non-acnegenic serum that promises to reduce the look of uneven skintone by targeting redness, acne marks, dark spots, sun spots, and discolourations.

So there you have it! That’s what’s on my beauty wish list at the minute – what’s on yours?

  • I’d like a Nars blush or two, urban decay primer potion, a new MAC MSF and something nice to transform my skin from the mess that it is!

  • Kirstie says:

yeah I’m not sure about peridot at all at all. I haven’t see it so that might be why…

  • VanillaLime says:

    Hmmmmmmm…the imaginary list would be:
the Nars Douceurs de Paris eyeshadow palette, the Bobbi Brown Sand Tortoiseshell palette, any Becca palette, a Rouge Bunny Rouge eyeshadow…never mind the amount of eyeshadow I already have!
The NARS Night Series nail varnishes.
A Chanel, Dior, or YSL lipstick (only getting into lipsticks!)

What I actually do have on my list to get:
    Peridot!
    MAC Fluidline Blacktrack & a 266 brush
MAC Painterly paint pot OR the NARS eyeshadow primer
A NARS blush if I am in Dublin and get to the counter!

  • I’ve loads on my list at the moment but top of it has to be some Chanel lipsticks and a few more Dior Addict lipsticks to keep Red Carpet (the one I already own and adore,) company.

  • xgirl says:

I don’t know about Peridot, but I think I want graphite – I’ll definitely be swatching it as soon as it’s out. Also want the Illusoire Illusion d’Ombre eye shadow and the Prelude eye shadow quad. Chanel all the way this AW!

  • miffyonline says:

Like xgirl, I am more drawn to Graphite than Peridot, yet it intrigues me. I am trying to arrange a swap for Revlon Carbonite which is supposedly a dupe for Graphite, so that might kill that lemming!

    I am lusting after:

Qtica Natural Nail Growth Stimulator – placed an online polish order and they shipped it WITHOUT this – big boo. It was out of stock but they never notified me. :(

Something else from the new Chanel collection, maybe the liner or one of those gorgeous cream/powder shadows.

Beige suede wedge boots from Esprit which will probably blow the clothes budget for the month but my birthday is next month…(mmm…*ponders*)

  • Harto says:

The new Cloon Keen Atelier perfume… I keep nipping over to Arnotts at lunch-time and putting it on. One of these days I will succumb to the pressure and hand over 70 my hard earned euros and bring it home!

  • CherrySue says:

Yay a place to express my urge for product piggery! :D

I’m wanting, with a passion, Sensuous Nude and the EL DoubleWear since receiving a sample last week.

Chanel Perdot for me too please though OPI’s Mad as a Hatter will sit belligerantly at the top of my list until I get my paws on it! Sigh.

That EL Illuminator is the shizz, it’s vay close to Kiehl’s Creme de Corps on my HG list for a gloriously fast working and effective product. It’s on my ‘buy it till it dies’ list.

  • boredmum says:

All i want, all i really really want is Golden Gaze, but i’m totally Skint, But, my wedding anniversary is tomorrow, so gonna ask the hubby to buy it for me :D ha ha ha, so fingers crossed

  • Beckymonster says:

Revlon’s ‘Carbonite’ nail polish. As much for the name (it was the substance Han Solo was encased in, in ‘Empire Strikes Back’ – major ‘Star Wars’ geek over here!) as the actual colour.

Also, even though I have about 300 odd navy nail polishes – I might have to slurge on the Dior nail polish ‘Tuxedo’ as well. It’s beautiful.

  • Pinky says:

oooooh it feels good to get the lusting off my chest.

    I need (want):

    Caudelie Premier Cru eye cream
    Untitled by Maison Martin Margiela
Clarins Rouge Prodige Lipstick in Clementine
Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill shadows
The new Chanel one that’s clearly been brought out just to rivale the Armani shadow
All of the REN skincare range.

Good jebus I have expensive taste!

  • lainey316 says:

I have a lengthy list in a notebook but none area sufficiently craved to justify euro purchase – all I really want right now is Doll Eyes mascara; LHR were sold out last month and to justify full price I need to use up at least one of the 5 (6?) mascaras I already have on the go. Or at least declare one sufficiently dead to throw out.

There’s an MSF coming in the next few months I must have – rerelease of Lightscapade. ummm… in the Cindy Sherman collection (can I wear Show Orchid? how much brighter than Pink Nouveau is it?)

  • Girlwiththeskew-earring says:

Catrice has an almost dupe for Peridot, but I think its a bit more purpley… I “think” its called peacock…

  • Girlwiththeskew-earring says:

oh and my personal lust list is everything in this lady’s wardrobe…http://karlascloset.blogspot.com

I have the new Estee Lauder Serum as of Sunday, and 4 days into using it twice a day my skin seems much softer, but no change in the pigmentation…yet

  • mollyky says:

Got Chloe Love for xmas from my sis and the bf loved it so much he replaced with a 100ml (brownie points). It’s funny cos he HATED the original Chloe. It’s gas how boys react to perfumes.

As for my wish list, I think I’ve grounded myself slightly since my splurgery days 06/07 time. Back then if Estee Lauder had a gift going I’d buy 3products just for the gift. I’d love to replace the Revlon 2Phase shampoo and conditioner though. I’m sure I’ll think of more!

  • Lisa says:

Having discovered my HG red lippie in Ellis Faas’ Ellis Red (seriously, it is AMAZING), I neeeeeeeed to try more of her lipsticks.

Oh, and the NARS colouredy eyeliners that are due in for A/W.
    And a pony.

(We will not discuss my clothing/shoe wishlist or the fact that I appear to be stalking the APC website while waiting for them to show their A/W range.)

  • sorey says:

Chanel Illusion D’Ombre in Mirifique and Illusoire. Lawks, I have started to dream about these…sadly not an exaggeration. All my smokey eye dreams realised in a chic little pot. The countdown is on!! 9 days! I’m supposed to be going down the country with the family next week, and if they’re not leaving on Thursday evening, damn it, I’m braving the 5 hour return bus journey myself so as not to miss out on these lovelies. That’s dedication to the beauty cause, surely?!

  • Fee says:

Snap on the Idealist – I intended to get it at the airport a couple of weeks ago but they only had the original in stock. Which I used a few years ago and wasn’t massively impressed with, but, hey, fool me twice… or something.

    Also
Untitled Maison Martin Margiela – the Eau de Toilette version – have tested both a few times now and the lighter one definitely suits me better
    Jo Malone Earl Grey fragrance

Lipsticks – I have always been strictly an eye make-up girl but getting into lip colour lately. I’m wary of it as my lips tend to be so dry but I’m very tempted by the Chanel Rouge Coco/Shine range…

  • makeupdolly says:

Ahhhhhhh SOOOO much stuff I neeeeed!!! Luckily I’ve just started a new job so will be able to afford (some) things soon! :) [Also, getting makeup done in BT for graduation ball in a few weeks so that’ll be €40 redeemable…..!!)

Laura Mercier Almond & Coconut Body Cream… ran out a few months ago and haven’t been able to justify the price since!

Naked Palette from Urban Decay…had resisted falling in lust until I saw it in HOF a week ago!

    Chanel graphite… so captivating!

    Van Cleef& Arpels, Faerie… Beaucoup de l’amour!!

There’s prob LOADS more but that’ll satisy the lust cravings for another hour or so!

  • Kitty In The City says:

Nothing fancy, but was raging I didn’t come accross this in the US, http://hurrawbalm.com/ Hurrah lip balms, have a lip obsession.
