The Haymarket Hotel in London is Swanky with a capital S, and no-where in the hotel is Swankier than the super-luxe underground pool area. With its pewter bar and vaulted ceiling and gold Chesterfield couches, it'd be an impressive spot for a party, which is probably why Marks & Spencer decided to host the launch of their 2011 Spa Collections there last week.
Yeah, this post is going to be spa heavy. I dunno how I got through the launch without giggling outwardly.
Guest of honour was Tess Daly, who was on hand to unveil her Daly Spa line. The six-strong suite of body products to target problem areas is her newest beauty collection for Marks & Sparks, although it's hard to believe that the lady herself has any such troublesome zones. Daly is beyond gorgeous in the flesh.
She's enthusiastic about this new capsule collection of toning and shaping bits, and tells me that she's involved with every stage of the planning and formulating and even packaging of her products - "right down to the size of the font!" I'm particularly taken with the sound of the Curvy Girl Cleavage Cream, which contains coconut oil to intensively moisturise and titanium dioxide to reflect light as green. The idea's not to give you a Hulk-tastic chest, but to help reduce the look of redness in the area.

Also new are the M&S Speedy Spa and Lazy Spa ranges, devised for at-home pampering regardless of whether you're looking for a quick shower- and morning-friendly fix or have more time to spare. There are face and body treatments in both camps; I'm looking forward to giving the zingy Speedy Exfoliating Body Wash and Lazy Body Butter a lash.
