Lipstick left in Jane Austen days: Violent Lips Transfers take centre stage

jessie j lip transfers

Forget temporary tatoos, Minx nails and nail transfers – there’s a whole new part of you to pattern.  Sort of making the whole lipstick or lipgloss debate seem like something out of Jane Austen, comes the  lip transfers phenonomen.

Violent Lips (http://www.violentlips.com)  have a whole host of lip transfers in leopard, fishnet, sequin and rainbow – and they look AMAZING.  But how easy would it be to eat and drink?  How long would they last?  And how on earth do you put them on?

Videos on the site explain all, but I’m telling you, after I’d watched the tutorial on application my heart sank to my boots.  I’m the kind of person who can’t even manage to apply false lashes, so god alone knows how I’d get on with these.  Bits of lips stuck on, the rest of it left on the transfer sheets I’d reckon.

Jessie J has been using transfers to toughen up her look and they do look totally goth fabulous on her.  Truth be told though, Ms J is probably one of the least rock and roll pop stars around.  Shocked she was by the goings on at the Trinity Ball when she performed at it this year.  Horrified by the drunken antics of the revelers (she doesn’t drink herself due to health problems).

They look great in photos but I’m not sure how er practical they’d be for actual life.

But when did that ever stop us!  What do you think?  Are you dying to try them – at $14.95 they’re not going to break the bank, and the site ships internationally.

Or maybe you think they’re disgusting – tell us you thoughts!

  • Aisling Aisling says:

Hmm they look cool but I have problem with transfers.. my skin hates them :(
Plus I think I quit using things like those rub on tatoos when I was 6/7 haha

J’sus, you gals know everything! I haven’t even heard of this! Not a fan, I must say…but I guess whoever likes it, can wear it, would look good in photoshoots :). It looks like the type of transfer tatoos that you got in bubblegums when you were a kid, tatoos with Spiderman and stuff..now THOSE were cool! :D

  • CeeCee says:

Looks like way too much effort to me, I can just about get me lipstick on not to mind using transfers!!

  • MissNoStars says:

oh god they look horrifically complicated to apply don’t they? I’d be raging to pay for them and end up making a mess of it. I am useless at false lashes. I thought these looked horrific until I saw the finished product on the girl in teh videop and its not bad. I’d love a pair of rainbow ones to go with my rainbow brite halloween costume :)

I love them, but how would the stand up for a day/night of drinking.
Would be great for Electric picnic but worried I’d have half missing after 1st drink..
Maybe an investment in straws would solve this – Dying to hear some reviews

    It looks like a disease..

  • Lynnie Lynnie says:

Would look stupeh on me, but still. LOVE.

  • They’d look stupid on my tiny lips but the model looks sort of cool. It seems like we’re getting closer to the Homer Simpson make-up gun everyday!

  • Jo says:

For the right editorial shoot for something like Dazed and Confused = amazing I reckon!

  • Aileen says:

Cool, would be great for festivals or just a fun night out! Tricky though… would work well for a photo shoot. Can’t see them lasting too long if you were having a few drinks. If anyone tries let me know x

  • MiamiMortimer says:

The process of putting them on looks annoying and time consuming…if you didn’t get the shape exactly right you’d look weird! I’d like them if they were easier to apply – although I know it’s impossible to cut them to the same shape as everyone’s lips!

  • Flame says:

What would happen when you smile???

  • John says:

I think they ROCK! ..now imagine mixing them up with a set of cool contact lenses? But think you would need ooba attitude to pull it off.
