While I can’t show you what else is incoming from Bobbi Brown for Autumn and up to Christmas until October because it’s under embargo, Bobbi herself has released images of the 20th Anniversary Lip Palette, which will launch at the start of October, on her brand new blog Everything Bobbi, so I’ve the OK to show you lot the shots I’ve taken of the product at the recent Estee Lauder Christmas press day (more on that after lunch!)

It’s a sweetie: lipsticks were the first thing Bobbi Brown did and the palette gathers together her original edit of 10 shades (on top) as well as new collection of 10 more (below), to mark her 20 years in business. It’s interesting to see how far the brand has come: from its muted, nude and well, brown beginnings, we’re now looking at brights, pinks and reds too and it’s all really rather fab.

Do note each individual pan is small – about the size of a 1c coin – and the formula is that of the lip colour lipsticks.

Like it? It’ll be €47 and you’ll be able to find it in around a week’s time.

This is already for sale on QVC(the shopping channel), they had Bobbi Brown shows last weekend and demo it. All the colours looked really bright compared to the photo you have.

  • D says:

Colours look great but I hate lip palettes…I find they always end up being a mess in a day. Maybe that’s just me?

  • Ellen says:

Don’t think I’d be bothered with 12 brown lipsticks. Would rather just get the full bullet versions of the two or three shades I do like. The brush looks nice though.

  • They look lovely but I hate palette lippies with a passion. I agree with D, they just end up looking like a mess within a day and they go all gloopy.

  • BerG says:

Looks pretty, but i also hate lip palettes. Find they go off very quickly.

  • Aisling Aisling says:

QVC ain’t Ireland! We’re giving you the information on the Irish launch!

  • Fiona says:

Saw this in the current edition of Vanity Fair and was wondering how much it’d cost. Very pleasantly surprised at the price!

I agree with the others, I hate lip palettes, think they are a waste of time. I usually love Bobbi’s palette’s but this is a definite miss for me!

There’s a little about embargos in different territories and our policy towards them here http://beaut.ie/2010/mac-a-tartan-tale-makeup-for-christmas-2010/

This has to do with Mac but it applies to all cosmetics. Basically it explains why you might have seen products elsewhere before we can release the information,. We’ve seen them, and in some cases actually have them, but we respect the embargo (even though it can be a bit daft online). The US launches way way before the European market and we actually can’t write about the products until the Irish launch. Other sites might – but you can be sure they’re lifting the images and information straight from US websites – we don’t do that

But when we give you the information it’s normally first for the Irish market – euro prices and where to buy in store.

QVC are a global entity – they would have different arrangements with suppliers

I hope this helps you to understand where we’re coming from!

They look so shiny and pretty, but I’m happy to see I’m not alone in my dislike of lipstick palettes. They get so gross looking after a while. Plus I always find I end up using one or two of the pans and the rest go to waste – shame! Think I’d rather take my 47 euro and buy some lippies I would definitely use instead.

    Hate hate hate lip palettes.

Weirdness re: MAC – Styledriven came out here BEFORE the US. Much oddness.

  • Aisling Aisling says:

lainey316 yes much oddness and hair tearing out here is exactly how I would describe it! It’s so frustrating not to be able to write about something new as soon as you hear about it. If you’re on the internet it doesn’t matter a damn if the site is in Outer Mongolia, New York or Dublin – it’s crazy

I really admire ye for sticking to embargos. It would be so much easier for ye to just turn a blind eye and take the attitude ‘well if it’s already on the internet then I may as well post info/ photos’. And I’m sure if ye did take that road then ye would probably have more time and effort on your hands to deal with things like, oh I don’t, yer own personal lives…

But ye don’t. Ye stick to the rules and give bloggers a GOOD name. I know it must be very frustrating, but I’d like to say your efforts are muchos appreciated.

I have the Pink and Gold palette from last Christmas and while I’ve hit pan on two shades, others are barely touched and one not at all – and it’s the lip palette I’ve used the most, ever! This looks interesting but it’s huge and not very portable for touchups, which is why I’d rather test it and see which shades I like, and buy those. Would be a good keep-at-home palette to have, though, I’m sure.

I’m with Parsnip on the embargos. You have your integrity and good name to think of, which is your brand.

  • 1Q21 says:

Ah right. But QVC do ship to Ireland as well, so that is why I said it was on there.

  • Aisling Aisling says:

    1Q21 – thanks missus x

  • Fifibelle says:

Not crazy about lip palettes, like the others

Just had a nosy at Everything Bobbi, they have a resident manicurist….le sigh with jealousy…..that would be amazeballs!!!
