Joico K-Pak Colour Therapy Restorative Styling Oil

Joico oil

Bejaysis but it seems like every week there's a new hair oil treatment in town. Mostly, it has to be said, they all promise to do pretty much the same thing: to intensively condition hair thereby smoothing, softening and sleekifying it, adding shine while cutting down on drying time.

So while Joico isn't exactly trying to reinvent the wheel with K-Pak Colour Therapy Restorative Styling Oil, €25, it is a little bit different to its oily counterparts in that it's not just a treatment product. It can be used on towel-dried hair as a leave-in treatment, sure, but apparently it also works as a pre-styling aid and can be used sparingly on dry hair to add shine. The ingredients list includes argan, mongongo, evening primrose, and kukui seed oils.

Now I've only used it on mid-lengths to ends of damp hair which I then allowed to dry naturally, because there's a warning on the box that while it's recommended all hair types, it is not designed for extremely fine, lifeless, flat, limp hair, and that freaked me out a bit. Eh, my hair can be all those things with the wrong product.

Happily, though, this seems to be the right product: not a single weighed down strand in sight, just lots of happy-looking frizz-free locks and shiny highlights.
