Metro In Shocking Beauty Fact Style Revelations!

dynasty

Yesterday while on the DART I did what I usually do - as I waited for a seat, I perused de Metro. On page 8 - a measure of its importance, I would wager - was an item on how makeup can lift your spirits. Not news to us beaut.ies, who regularly receive the joy of retail therapy with our product purchases. The article said, "wearing makeup can affect a woman's mood - and the way they are perceived by others, a new poll suggests." Interesting stuff, I thought, and it was lent some cred by the fact that the survey was carried out by the London College of Fashion - and those buds would know their business, eh?

They found that 67% of women felt they got more attention when they were made up, and 85% said wearing slap helped them feel happier too. 82% of women prefer their female colleagues to slap on the foundation, and 78% reckon that the fact they wear cosmetics affects how they're treated by others - negatively or positively, the article doesn't say, however.

And what about that old chestnut - men? Men are, as we all know, shaggin' ridiculous about makeup. They bleat about how 'you're onny norjus without it', but they wouldn't be saying that if they could see us after 7 wines, all red faced and shiny, now would they? No, is the simple answer, and I am delighted to report that the poll agrees. 80% of men would prefer to employ a woman who wore makeup than one who did not, yet paradoxically, 78% of men felt that women who don't wear makeup were confident and laid back - which must mean they think that shy, neurotic, lipglossed types are the perfect employees? Lastly, the guys surveyed were shown five pictures of the same woman wearing increasing amounts of makeup, and 75% of them said the woman wearing moderate to heavy slap was the one for them.

Hahah! Caught yiz out lads! I fully expect to see irate letters from Dave from Baldoyle et al in the letters page in the morning, angrily refuting the figures.
