Oohh - one of the most exciting things about the end of summer is the advent of all the new season fabulousness in the shops. Clothes are the first thing that spring to mind, but as beauty is becoming increasingly trend-led, that means lots and lots of yummy new makeup collections will be arriving on counter too. I've had a sneaky preview of a few, and here are my top picks for Autumn's essential purchases. You'll have to wait a few weeks for some - most of these babies won't debut till various times in August. But all that means is you get to save up for exactly what you'd like.
1 YSL are rocking out some more of their frankly fabulous palettes. This season's beauties come in a 5-shadow pan, with a good variety of shimmer, matte and shine. 6 colourways will be on counter, including a very, very super-duper Garden of Eden, which lucky Aphrodite is currently road-testing. At department stores, they're going to be €53 a pop.
2 Part of the forthcoming Mauve collection, Bobbi Brown brings us Autumnal shades of sheer, high-shine gloss in heather, black pearl and iced mauve. €21 of your eurobucks will nab you one of these.

3 Chanel's new season palette is one of their better ones from recent collections. Wearable, soft shades are ideal for the new trend for smokey eyes. Loving this one. €44, on counter 25th August.
4 I'm tipping this for greatness. It's YSL's answer to Clarins' famous Beauty Flash Balm, it's a hybrid cosmetic/skincare product that was born of a desire from backstage makeup artists for a handy booster product to quickly brush onto models' skin pre-foundation. Enter Top Secrets, €50. Like the Perfect Touch foundation, you click the top to 'on', brush the luminzing base onto clean skin, for a fresh, glowing base. Makeup glides on.
5 The last one's a good'un - a new Chanel mascara. Oh sing holy hosannas! Exceptionnel is curling and volumizing. Join the queue, this €27 beauty lands on the 18th August.
