Above is a pic of one of the counters in my bathroom – there’s another but I try not to colonise it (too much) because that’s Himself’s side. This pretty much represents stuff I’ve been using this week or pretty recently, because I do try and tidy it away every few days. This is a tiny part of it all – there are muji boxes bursting with eyeshadows, cabinets piled with product – and lets not even mention the bath.
Point is, I’m not terribly precious about my products. I use them. I know a lot of people do buy expensive things and then…just look at them. So, are you one of those people? Or are you an inveterate user of all you buy?
For those of you what be interested, above is roughly, from l-r:
Some DDF moisturiser (EA Green Tea hiding behind); on top is Cover FX makeup; Origins Ginger Essence; Shu Uemura Oil; more fragrance including eternity and happy; Omorovicza’s fab daily moisturiser (sitting on a pot of Elemis cream) with Nadur oil in front; lots of brushes in pouches; a big bottle of Jo Malone mint and jasmine is peeping up from behind them. Onto the next sort of row: Annick Goutal eau d’Hadrien, Guinot eye cream (with Bobbi Brown concealer in front, plus a Laura Mercier mineral setting powder and kabuki brush and a little pump of L’Oreal Derma Genesis serum); MAC studio Fix; bisecting the pic is an aluminium pencil case from muji containing eye and lip pencils, it’s sitting on a Paul and Joe mirror and has a Bobbi Brown shadow on top; to the right of that is a stack containing the new La Mer eye cream; a shimmer brick; Clarins bronzer, Becca blush; in front is a Jemma Kidd gloss and a Ruby & Millie i-writer. Vichy Aqualia is peeping out from under the brushes.
