Kirstie brought us news last week of heart-shaped hair and bee-yootiful coral lippie at Chanel's Paris Fashion Week show. And while I was looking over the haute couture photees and deciding how I felt about the futuristic frou-frou, with the sorbet of frills and ice-cream colours shot through with edgier silver accents, I wondered how long it would take me to do the Minnie Mouse hair. And, eh, how quickly it would fall right back down again. Then my eyes were drawn to the model's hands. After a bit of squinting and adjusting my monitor and tilting my laptop screen, I decided that yep, their nails were definitely silver.
At first squint, they actually looked foiled and possibly Minxed. However, since nail varnish can look very different when photographed and Chanel aren't in the habit of using someone elses products, I decided to do a little investigation.
It looks like Peter Phillips, Global Director of Make-Up and the man responsible for Chanel's hoo ha causing Particulière and Jade nail varnish shades, is either feeling retrospective or running out of ideas: according to insiders this is Chanel's Platinum Silver, which was a limited edition release that came with a ridge-filling base coat as part of a duo set away back in 2007.
