With a true dedication to the cause, Cathyfly has transcribed her report of the Beaut.ie Brunch on Saturday. There's one person she forgot to thank though - herself! Thank you so much Cathyfly for organising everything, for booking the restaurant, for keeping track of the guest list - and in short, for being downright fabulous. Now, here's her summation of the day!
Like a nervous singleton waiting for my blind date to arrive, I stood at the door of Venu expectantly listening to the clicking of heels down the steps of the restaurant.Then looking at the equally expectant, slightly nervous, and of course immaculately made-up faces coming in, it began...
'Are you...?'
'I'm here for the...'
'Table for Catherine...?'
And we were off!
First there was Tiddles (a trouper fresh from her Friday night out), then Lynnie, with cocktail already in hand...Oh, and there's Roisin Dubh, I recognise her from her by-line...and this must be Aphrodite, and PinkPanther...and...and...
Hands were shaken, cheeks kissed, hugs exchanged like old friends, even though most of us were meeting for the first time.
Nervous laughs turned into belly laughs and increased in frequency. Makeup bags were pulled out of handbags and examined on the table. Seats were swapped around at speed, leaving the poor staff scratching their heads. Cocktails were drained, phone numbers swapped, and the wine flowed as fast as the conversation.
Oh, and we managed to fit in some yummy grub too.
Highlights of the day?

- The AMAZING goodie bags and raffle prizes which I think we'll have to do a whole other review on.
- Being asked by Aphrodite if I'd had my makeup done before I arrived (I hadn't!).
- Getting to root in Kirstie's makeup bag!
- Looking down the table in the bar later to see Lynnie, Dorothy and Emer trying out products as if they were at the Benefit counter in BTs and not a swanky cocktail bar!
- Thinking 'I love being a girl!', a lot.
- Realising at 1.30 (am) that we'd been out for 12 hours and it might be a good idea to go home...
- And most of all, all of you... Kirstie, Aisling, Roisin, Pink Panther, Jill, Glitterkitty, Cleopatra, xgirl, Roisin, Emer, Tiddles, Anna, Sarah, Dorothy, Dobby, Aoife, Regina, Giita, Siobhan, Ruth, Ellenwaxer (and her brother!)...I hope I haven't missed anyone.
Special thanks to Kirstie & Aphrodite for all the goodies, and the vino, and of course for this fabulous site without which this gathering of beaut.ieful ladies wouldn't have been possible. I'm so delighted to have met you all.
