We live in a tech wonderland right now, and fashion is certainly not immune to this. The effects of technological developments in fashion have led to it becoming more accessible, less intimidating and far more interactive.
One of the results of this has been a surge in the number of fashion-based apps now available to us. One way I find out about new ones are to follow the tech magazines on twitter who always post news on where the latest apps are coming from.
As well as Instagram being a great way of sharing what's going on, I love nothing more than a bit of research time at my desk. I know, I'm a bit of a nerd. So to help you with your next app download here are a few of my favourite ones.
1. Frockadvisor
This one is Irish and we love to support our own. The brainchild of Sonya Lennon and Brendan Courtney, Frockadvisor aims to merge the human interaction we love about shopping with an online experience.
Users who download the app can see what's on offer in shops near them, as well as boutiques having visibility of what their customers want. You can see discounts, events and lot's of news from our local fashion retailers.
2. Depop
Need to sell those unwanted or overworn things in your wardrobe? Then Depop is for you. It's basically an app-based shop for pre-loved clothes. What I love about it, is that potential buyers can ask you questions about the items before you sell them.
It's a hot spot for well known bloggers to sell their wares, and you can always pick up a fabulous designer bargain too. I've been using this for about an year, and I find it a great way to pass on my clothes. Controlling it all on your phone or tablet is the best bit.

3. Polyvore
Oh the hours I spend on this one. Polyvore makes you into your own stylist. You can make collages using imagery from thousands of designers and high street retailers to make a look that you might be channeling that day, or just one you lust after.
For any budding bloggers out there, this one is definitely for you. If you already have a blog, you can also automatically link the collages you make to your site. Polyvore adds links to the images for your readers to click through, and even buy the items if they so wish. Polyvore can also be linked to Twitter and Instagram.
4. Pose
For all those outfit post lovers out there, Pose is for you. Basically it's a platform to upload your outfit pics and share them with the Pose community. You can build up a following and discover new fashionistas from which to seek style inspiration. This one is still relatively new, but I think it's going to be a goodun.
5. Style.com
Ok so not necessarily just an app, but the app version of the go-to style website is pretty amazing. Keep up to date with the latest from fashion weeks, see the collections as they appear down the catwalk as well as behind the scenes look at what goes on back stage. It's also a great platform for reading trend reviews from the best in the business across the globe.
