The Golden Globe 2016 nominations were announced yesterday which didn't excite us very much to be honest, although Saoirse Ronan has been nominated for her role in Brooklyn which is definitely good news. Saoirse has been blazing a sartorial storm during the promotion of the sad and moving flick (or so we hear), Brooklyn, and we predict the style force will be strong with this one during next year's awards.
Everyone knows that the best thing about awards season is the red carpet. Who remembers the winner of Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy or Musical Golden Globe* last year? Exactly. But you might remember this:
Now I didn't say it was one of the very nicest looks but it was memorable. And Lena Dunham can wear whatever the hell she likes.
The Golden Globe red carpet is one of the best red carpets. The stars tend to push the style boat (or rather, style fancy gold gondola) out a bit more before the serious and stern Oscars where everything has to be either black or you come dressed like an actual Oscar statuette or a swan.
We loved these looks from last year's Globes:

See how different they all were? Now before you tell us which look was your favourite, feast your eyes on this magnificent jacket Saorise Ronan wore to a press event for Brooklyn last month. It's from Burberry's SS16 collection but we would steal it from Saorise's wardrobe Bling Ring style so it could be our Christmas coat.
We're looking forward to next years GG red carpet already.
