This is the one coat you need to elevate any outfit
Getting dressed is hard to do. You might have a heaving wardrobe full of the fruits of many the high street haul, but you can still have 'nothing to wear'. Well, I've discovered that this one coat has the power to transform your outfit from blah to oh-that-person-made-an-effort-and-is-somewhat-stylish.
The only dressy clothes I own are wedding guest dresses that don't entirely suit a night out with the girls. If I can't wear my 'My Fair Lady' hat with it, it's not happening. But they only other clothes I own are super casual and cheap looking making it SO HARD to look even half-way put together when I have to go to an event for work or a nice dinner followed by drinks etc. etc.
I bought this very trench coat in an ASOS flash sale last year, but I didn't actually wear it until a month ago when it got warm enough that a leather jacket was a bit too much. The first day I wore it was with jeans, a striped top and espadrilles - a real basic bi*ch outfit (that I always find myself wearing). I realised the power of the trench when I threw it on over that BB outfit, with a scarf, and got so many compliments on my style. This one simple coat is the opposite of an invisibility cloak without going into Joseph the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat territory. It's the Amazing Instant Chic Realcoat.
It's traditionally a spring coat, but if it's light-weight, it makes for a great summer cover-up too. Shoulder robe if it gets too warm and if you forgot to bring suncream with you. Amazing realcoat indeed.
