The beauty of fashion is that everyone can have a different opinion, but yours is never wrong.
People on Facebook have hated two of my recent picks - a coat from Zara and a dress from Dunnes - but I'm not upset at their comments. Sure, Elisa said the coat would get you noticed by a street style photographer "for looking like a fool", and of the dress, Louise says, "I've a roll of bin bags in the press that look exactly like that dress and only a fraction of the cost. No wonder it's on sale" and they're entitled to their opinion.
I still think, in certain situations, and on certain fashion forward, chic women, these pieces will work. But sticking to the basics work for some people too.
People are going to detest these trousers Sienna Miller wore during the week.
Granted, they're unflattering in more than one way, and they've been styled terribly with those shoes. It's like Sienna went on a trip home to London, but her luggage got lost, and she had to raid her teenage, presumably Simon Cowell inspired, closet. The trews come straight out of a 90s hip hop music video and, well, so do the shoes.

But remember, MC Hammer pants weren't flattering the first time round, yet everyone wore them. Think back; didn't you wear a pair of chunky black sandals like that to a teenage disco in 1999? Double denim was the devil's combination until a couple of years ago, and now all the cool kids are wearing it.
Mark my words, you are going to see a lot of trousers like this in real life over the coming months, and you might even think it looks good. It takes a brave person to take a fashion risk, of course. And there's nothing wrong with sticking to the Pippa O'Connor school of style, and wearing crowd-pleasing items like skinny jeans, wrap dresses and these boots I bought because I like to please crowds too.
However, if you feel like doing the wide-legged thing, go all out and try this ASOS pair (€53.33).
If you don't want them trailing along the ground, how about this cropped pair from Topshop (€60) that have a belt, like Sienna's.
