Autumn Style: The Top Three Most Controversial Trends

There has been many a trend or look that has sparked chat - and not always for good reasons. The one thing it does do, is make us talk about them. Over the last couple of seasons, there have been many fashion moments, so here are just a few of mine!

  • The Moschino Take Over

Jeremy Scott, who is at the helm of Moschino, has been responsible for some very out there trends since 2014. First, we had the Barbie theme at Milan Fashion Week which was fun to watch but to wear? I'm not sure. Shortly followed by the McDonalds inspired look, as seen on Scott's favourite lady Katy Perry among others. I get that it needs to be a little outrageous, but on this trend, the jury is out.

  • Less is More

This year's Met Ball had us talking about transparency. The way celebrities were thinking, less was more. The most talked about trend of the night was the mixture of chiffon (and other invisible fabrics) and perfectly placed jewels as seen on Beyoncé and Kim Kardashian. They can certainly get away with it, but I'm not sure if I can. This is a trend never to be tried by me.

I do love a little suggestive fashion, but we've seen a lot of pants on the red carpets recently. From plunging necklines of chiffon gowns layered over structured pants, to all out underwear outfits. Black seems to be the preferred colour and there have been a few that I've applauded for exquisite design and beading. But as to the practicality of this trend? Hmm, not sure.
