It's new editor Edward Enninful's first edition of British Vogue. Adwoa Aboah stars. It's beautiful.
Since his announcement as Alexandra Shulman's replacement as editor of British Vogue in April, the fashion world knew times were about to change. Awarded an OBE in 2016 for services to diversify within the fashion industry, the December edition appears to be his confirmation of his life-long endeavour.
His mission for his Vogue is to dismantle the 'posh girl' culture where most staffers are white, female and very well connected. He's supported by a large chunk of the fashion industry, too. His bestie is Naomi Campbell, who is a new contributing editor for the magazine - as is Kate Moss - and super MUA Pat McGrath is now beauty editor-at-large.
ANYWAY, what do we think?

The cover (and cover story) was shot by Steven Meisel, the face belongs to model-of-the-moment - and activist, that's important - Adwoa Aboah, wearing a silk headwrap from Marc Jacob's SS18 collection. The shoot has been seven months in the making; it had to be significant. The retro style is surprising, given that the theme is a new dawn for Vogue UK, but it works. Fashion is cyclical, but opinions change.
The Guardian made the observation that,"the coverlines make no mention of trends, It bags or new mascaras. Instead there is a list of power players in politics and the arts."
And interesting time for Vogue, indeed.
