Not everyone loves sequins at Christmastime, ok, fine, I get it. So how about lamé?
Alexa Chung hosted a charity dinner in support of HeForShe, the UN Women's Global Movement For Gender Equality, last night and turned up in a simple dress, boots and jacket combo. Except that it wasn't all that simple. This dress is the magpie's alternative to the LBD; it's easy to wear, it's flattering, and it's gold, dammit. Gold.
Try as I might, I can't find an exact copy. Alexa hosted the event with AG, the jeans company she frequently collaborates with, but it's not from there. (And yes, this company does make dresses, smartass.)
Instead, here are three alternatives from the high street that are cheerful as well as cheap(ish).
