Recently we met the lovely Catherine and Suzanne from Boutique Bake and they have been sharing their delicious baking recipes with us in their Sweet Saturday series (you can check out more of their recipes here).
And today we are not baking – as in we are going to rustle up this truly divine and healthy breakfast treat.
Where there’s a whisk, there’s a way.
This is a recipe that I have tried and tested over and over again during the last few months and it really is delicious. A lot of granolas out there are full of sugar, and as much as we love our sweet treats at Boutique Bake; we do like to be healthy at breakfast time! So this recipe uses maple syrup and honey as a sweetener, rather than refined sugar.
Granola is perfect for a really quick breakfast with milk or yoghurt, and works really well as an afternoon snack too! You can have some fun by adding in different variations in to the basic recipe but our version below uses dried mango and goji berries, which add a lovely chewy texture. If you prefer raisins or cranberries, these can be easily swapped in to our recipe!
So let’s get started!
- Ingredients
125ml maple syrup
3tbsp honey
300g oats
50g sunflower seeds
50g pecan nuts
50g cashew nuts
50g goji berries
50g dried mango
50g desiccated coconut
- Method
Preheat your oven to 180oC/160o fan.
Mix the maple syrup and honey in a bowl until well combined.
Roughly chop the cashew nuts and pecan nuts.

Next, stir in your oats, chopped nuts, and seeds, and mix until all ingredients are nicely coated with the syrup and honey mixture.
Line two baking trays with greaseproof paper.
Pour granola mixture onto the trays and spread out so that it is nice and even.
Bake in the over for 20 minutes, stirring every few minutes to ensure the mixture bakes evenly.
After 20 minutes, remove and stir in the desiccated coconut.
Bake for a further 10-15 minutes, until all the granola is a nice golden colour.
Once cooled, add in your dried mango and goji berries and mix well.
Store in an air tight container to keep your granola nice and fresh.
Our granola tastes great with natural, yoghurt, berries and a drizzle of honey. Enjoy!
